Twenty-Four

B y the time they made it to Seattle, Quentin figured he was going to kill someone.

Maybe himself.

Boone was the worst kind of mother hen. Chauncey was queasy as fuck from the pain meds they had put him on to travel. He hadn’t puked in the vehicle, but he’d been silently miserable, which was awful.

And Frost was in a foul humor because he wasn’t flying them.

Moody fucker.

So thank God they got to the damn hotel and got into two accessible rooms and one with the biggest minibar Boone could probably find.

“Y’all want to eat supper together?” Boone asked.

“I’m just gonna head to bed and eat room service,” Chauncey murmured. He was crutching okay, but his tired was showing. “Maybe they’ll make me some eggs if I ask.”

“If you need me to talk to them, man, just holler,” Boone said. “I have member stuff at this hotel group.”

“Cool.” Chauncey gave them a tired grin. “Thanks for everything today, guys. Except you, Frost. You were a dick.” He winked, and he was off, clumping down the hall.

“Sorry!” Frost called. Then he sighed. “Sorry, Boone.”

“Hey, you kept it mostly to yourself. But if you two want to have a beer and a steak…”

“They got a nice place here, huh?”

“Oh, yeah. Dry aged steak. Good seafood. Fantastic bourbon.”

Frost raised an eyebrow at him, and he nodded.

“Sure, man. Let us get a shower and maybe half an hour of rest, and we’ll come down for supper.”

“So, say, six thirty?”

“Sounds great.” Q winked. “This one needs an attitude adjustment.”

“He does.” Boone waved and headed off to his room.

Frost walked next to him down the hall. “I was trying not to be an ass, baby.”

“I know. But we can all tell you’re pissed off and not feeling great.”

“Yeah.” They got to their room, and Frost unlocked it. “That’s the problem. I feel good enough, really, but not good enough to fly.”

“Yeah.” He rolled into the room, which really was super nice. Not as nice as the Barn, but at least as nice as the one from the last few days. “Come check out the shower with me.”

“You sure?”

“Love, I am not going to kick you out of the shower for being pissed off that you’re hurting.” He might kick Frost in the shower, but that was a whole other ball of wax.

“Okay, cool. I just wanted to be sure.” Frost took a deep breath, then coughed a little. “Thank you, baby boy. For being here for me.”

“You’re mine, and I love you. There’s nowhere else I would be.” He grabbed Frost’s hand and kissed his knuckles. “You didn’t give up on me. I won’t give up on you.”

“Deal, baby. Now, about that shower…”

Quentin chuckled, pulling off his shirt and heading for the bathroom. “We can do that, lover. But no hijinks. We have supper with Boone.”

“No hijinks?” Frost waggled his eyebrows. “What if I need a blowjob?”

“No one needs a blowjob, and your lungs aren’t ready. I’ll love on your cock when you can sing ‘Happy Birthday’ without hacking.”

Okay, this was fun. He might have to tease Frost for weeks. Why not?

“So mean to me, baby boy. I’m not too lurgy to tie you up and torture you a little.” That look sent a shiver down his spine. So fucking pretty and dangerous.

“Unfortunately for you, I left all the cuffs at home.” Poking the bear was so worth any burn later.

“Now, why would you do that?” Frost got the water going. “I guess they would frown on tearing up sheets. Maybe Boone has some…”

“Does he carry them around randomly then? In his pocket? I think TSA would frown on that…”

“I bet TSA has seen anything there is to see.” They got him up and moving into the shower, but he was going to try without the seat.

“And everything, right?” He grabbed Frost’s waist when he stepped into the shower, snuggling in close. “God, I’m ready to get home.”

“Me too, baby. Me too. I’m sorry I can’t fly.”

“Hey, neither can Chauncey, and we didn’t want to stick him on a bus or something.” The club had sent someone to fly the plane back a week or so ago, but that was all okay. “You can take me someplace fun when you’re cleared.”

“Yeah.”

“Or we can lock ourselves in our apartment and just have a staycation with constant nakedness.” He was easy.

“Our apartment, huh?”

He nodded, because all his shit was moved downstairs, including a bed for Yukon. “I got everything ready for us when you came home.”

“Cool.” Frost beamed, and it was the most genuine smile he’d seen all day. “Did you leave the bed up there, just in case I attack you at work?”

“I did. We need a bed in every room, don’t we?” He cupped Frost’s balls, cradled them. He loved the feel of them against his palm, under his touch. So heavy and fuzzy.

“We so do.” Frost hummed, and they swayed, but not in a dangerous way. Just jonesing on each other.

“We’re okay, you know that, right? You and me? We’re fine.” He thought that was important, to let Frost know he wasn’t mad. That he understood both the need Frost had to jump, and that he got how hard it was to be injured.

“I do. I count on it. Even when I’m an ass.” Frost took a kiss then, not too long or too deep, but just right considering the circumstances. And it did feel all right. It felt good to know the tension was easing from Frost’s muscles.

It felt even better when Frost lifted him, then turned and sat on the shower chair with him.

“If we fall…”

“We won’t, baby boy. Trust me.”

“Always.” He did. Maybe not the shower chair, but Frost? Yes.

“Good deal.” Frost kissed him again, breaking for air earlier than usual, but it was a damn good foray.

“Be careful, you. I don’t want you to hurt your lungs, fire boy.”

Frost arched an eyebrow. “Fire boy?”

“Fire…dude?”

Frost swatted him, making it sting. “Baby boy…”

“You know I’m the worst sub ever.” He rolled his eyes, but he did have to wiggle.

“No. You’re mine. My baby boy.” Frost soothed the little slap with a stroke or two, the water washing it away. “And I love you more than anything on Earth. Never forget it.”

“I never have.”

Even when he’d been at the bottom of the barrel, he’d known where he belonged.

At the Barn with his Frost.
