“Shit, I’ve got to go. I’ve got another meeting. Don’t worry about the housework. I’ll do it when I get back.” He smiles at me. “Actually, give me a minute.” He walks off but soon comes back. “We have a few hours before we need to collect the children. I’ve cancelled the rest of the day.”

“You bad boy. But I have this strict boss, and I have to make the beds,” I say, sitting up on my elbows.

“I don’t think he’s that strict.” He kisses a trail down my body.

We lie in bed for the next few hours talking and laughing.

“I’ll get the children, you stay there.” He gets up. I check his arse out, smiling to myself.

“Are you looking at me?”

“Nope,” I lie.

“You so are.” He comes back and kisses me one more time. “I’d better go. Sleep with me tonight?” he asks.

“Sure.” I smile, biting my lip and watch his bum again as he leaves.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Gemma

Falling asleep in Alex's arms is even more magical than making love to him. His strong body wraps around me, and I wake up early in his bed. I can’t believe he bought a car for me to drive. It better be something I like.

A little person is staring at me when I open my eyes, poking me with her finger. “You’re in my space. Did you have a bad night’s sleep too?” She climbs over my body, getting in the middle of Alex and me.

“Hey, pumpkin.” Alex kisses her head.

“I’ll go back to my bed.” I swing my legs out.

“Stay. You can’t go back to bed if you’re having a nightmare. Daddy gets rid of the nightmares.”

Eden is so sweet. She nuzzles down, going straight to sleep. Alex and I look at each other from across the bed.

“Sorry,” he mouths.

Smiling, I shake my head, curling up to go back to sleep.

Two hours later, and I am half hanging out of the bed. Alex is on the other edge, and Eden is fast asleep, her body stretched horizontally across the covers. Her head is prodding in my back. I am staring at the wall, willing myself to sleep, when Ace walks into the room to find us all in bed together.

“Why is Gemma in your bed?” he asks, looking at the scene.

“Because she had a nightmare,” Eden says as she extends her arms.

I groan.

“Did you have sex?” Ace asks.

Sitting up, which is easier now Eden has moved, I look over at Alex. He bolts up, his eyes wide.

“Where… what?” Alex stutters.

I have to stop myself from laughing. Placing my hand over my mouth, I make myself cough instead.

“That’s how you make babies,” Ace says. He rubs his head like it is just so obvious.

“How… when… how?” Alex still can’t string a sentence together.

“George told me. You have sex to make babies.” Alex looks at him. Ace is unaware of the logistics, or at least I know both Alex and I are hoping that’s the case.
