Evan is there for him as Deacon’s head turns, breaking our kiss. Evan’s lips press into his softly, soothing. “I think my brain’s shutting down,” Deacon whispers.

“Let it.” I run my hand through his hair for the hundredth time. His long lashes rest on his cheek, and he sighs the sigh of defeat.

“Will he stay?” he asks.

“I hope so.”

“I hope so, too.”

“What did he say to you?” My curiosity is killing me about what Evan whispered to Deacon while I was fucking him.

“He said…” Another sigh. “The reason it felt different was because you care about me. That you care about me so much.”

My heart does some shady shit in my chest causing a flutter in my throat. “Is that all?”

“And he reminded me he was here. Stuff like that.”

“How’d that feel?”

“Feelings…” he half smiles. “You guys…it felt…like he was saying my feelings.”

“Did he get them right?”

“It felt right,” he says.

Warm all over, I press another kiss to his forehead and then both his eyelids. “Get some sleep.”

He mumbles, “I should get home. Have to work in the morning.”

“I know. I’ll wake you up in a little while.”
