Slice comes sauntering over and wraps his arm around Jen’s waist to drag her against him. “You know what’s big?” He announces.
Joe chuckles and pulls me so my back is to his front. “This gotta be good.”
Jen blushes and then winks. “Uh, yeah. I saw it earlier.”
“My house, you weirdo! Way to be a perv!”
We all break out in laughter and Slice seems to be pretty proud of himself for what he said.
“Your daddy must have been a drug dealer because your ass is dope!” Jen announces and giggles harder.
Over the past couple of weeks Jen and Slice have been spending time together and it’s awesome to see her so hung up on a guy. As if you couldn’t tell from before, she’s not the settling down type and I don’t know if she ever will… But she likes Slice.
“Speech!” Someone yells out.
Joe drags me into the middle of the room and everyone circles around us. I feel a little shy that I’m in the middle of the circle but I draw the strength from Joe through his body heat.
My man clears his throat and everyone is attuned to what he has to say. “This is a cause that is close to my heart because I was once with a woman who was addicted to cocaine. I’m not going to go into details but she didn’t get to have a second chance at life. Her addiction ruled her life and I’m hoping that the money that we raise for this rehab, will help give addicts a second chance.” Joe wraps both of his arms around my middle and the sound of our leather rubbing against each other makes me shiver. “I got my second chance at life and I’m never going to take it for granted.”
Everyone starts clapping and I blush from head to toe and try to turn so my head is tucked into his chest.
“So, open your wallets, you bastards, and donate some more money to help have second chances in life!”
“Here, here!”
“To the President and his First Lady!” Mack Truck announces from the back.
“To the President and his First Lady,” everyone shouts.
The End
