I released her hand and pointed to the name badge sewn into herdress. “It’s on your uniform.”
“Oh,” she replied, her eyes dropping to where I had pointed, confirming that her name badge was indeed there.
“So, dinner?”
“I can’t.”
“Can’t?” I tilted my head to one side in question. I had a feeling mysweet Savannah was going to play hard to get. Good job I had a plan B. “And why not?”
“Becauseyou look like the kind of guy who would turn my world upside down, and I’m not entirely sure it would be for the better,” she replied, taking me by surprise with her candor.
She had no fucking idea how true her statement was.
“It’s just dinner,” I chuckled. “You can even pick where we go.”
She sighed heavily, and her shoulders slumped. In that instant, Iknew I’d lost this round. But I was a persistent man, especially when it came to something I wanted.
“I’m sorry,” she said quietly, unable to meet my eye.
“It’s okay. I can take a hint.” When she finally raised her eyes, I gaveher a warm smile. I didn’t miss her pulse beat harder in her throat. “I’d still like to take care of the cost of the tow though, and have a mechanic take a look at your car.”
“That’s kind of you, but-”
“I insist,” I interrupted. She may have refused to go to dinner with me,but I wasn’t backing down on this.
Besides, she already owed me $250,000, what was a few hundreddollars more? Not that the car was going to be fixed, this was the first step in my plan to take everything from her.
Her nervous gaze drifted over to her car, and if seeing just howfucked she really was, her entire body deflated with helplessness.
“I don’t know what to say,” she eventually said, relief in her voiceeven if she was begrudgingly accepting my help. “Thank you, Nash. It means a lot. Especially for not reporting me to the police.”
“It’s my pleasure,” I replied, resisting the temptation to reach out andtuck a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Recovery is on its way. They’ll be here in about ten minutes,” Briansaid, rejoining us.
“Perfect. Brian, take Miss-” I paused, stopping myself from saying herlast name and giving the game away before I’d even started playing with her. Instead, I gave her an expectant look, raising my brow in question.
“Miller. Savannah Miller.”
“Take Miss Miller home. I’ll wait for recovery, and you can pick me upon the way back,” I said.
“Oh, no. There’s no need to do that,” Savannah protested atthe same time a chill ran down her body from the drop in temperature.
“It looks like it’s going to snow any minute, and I imagine you’d like toget out of your uniform,” I replied, casting my gaze down her body. Her cheeks flushed when I paused on the bean stain covering her luscious tits.
“Well, if you don’t mind,” she said apprehensively, looking from me toBrian.
I gave her a nod and watched as Brian opened the back door to myBentley.
Before she slid in, she paused to look at me, her beautiful eyesmeeting mine. “Thank you again. For everything.”
“I’ll see you, Savannah,” I said casually, turning my back to her, knowing that I’d be seeing her much sooner than she realized.
Chapter 3
Savannah
The following morning, I dragged my exhausted ass out of bed. I’dbarely slept a wink thanks to the paranoia that I’d sleep through my alarm and miss my bus, as well as fretting that any minute the police were going to raid my apartment and arrest me for driving without insurance.
