Page 33 of Sweet Surrender
“What’s there to think about, sweetheart?” I said, keeping my voicelow, and lulling her in. “I can give you a life of luxury. You’ll never have to worry about money again. All you have to do is surrender to me. But if you walk out of here, you’ll go back to your mundane life. No money, no friends, no job, and soon, no home.”
Her body tensed before she shifted. I took a small step back buttowered over her once again. Her pulse raced in her throat as she gaped at me, her brows furrowed in confusion.
“How do you know about my job and my apartment?”
I shrugged. “It’s irrelevant how I know. It changes nothing. Now giveme an answer before I decide for you, and I assure you, it won’t be pretty for Liam.”
Her mouth opened and then closed again, and as she stared at me, Icould see the cogs whirling in her head. What she had to think about though was beyond me.
But then she surprised the ever-living shit out of me.
“Do what you need to do to Liam,” she said, her tone full ofdetermination. “Liam brought this on himself, he can face the consequences. I choosemylife.”
I held her eye for a minute trying to determine how serious shewas. When she didn’t back down or look away, Ipulled my phone out. She watched me as though I was a rabid bear as I tapped at the screen, before holding the phone to my ear.
“The decision has been made,” I said into the phone, not breaking mygaze away from Savannah. “End him.”
Savannah’s eyes widened before darting over my shoulder to thescreen, her face growing paler than before.
“Wait!” she screamed, her voice laced with panic.
I resisted smiling. I was calling her bluff, and she’d just proven howwell I knew her.
I raised a brow, waiting for her to elaborate.
“Don’t kill him,” she replied softly, her voice barely audible, and hershoulders slumping in defeat.
“Hold fire,” I said before hanging up. I stepped away from her andgrabbed the remote to turn the screen off. “Have you changed your mind?”
She swallowed nervously, and once again her eyes darted to the nowblank screen before they squeezed shut. “Let Liam go.”
“You know what that means for you? You’ll be mine, Savannah. I willown you, I will do with you what I please, when I please.”
Her eyes shot open, and a snarl twisted on her lips before shesucked in a breath. “I…I know.”
On the outside, I kept my composure, but internally, I was jumping upand down, fist-bumping the fucking air.
I had her right where I wanted her.
“Prove it,” I said, wanting to make sure she understood exactly whatshe was agreeing to.
“What?” she cried.
“You heard. Prove to me that you’re serious, that you won’t backdown at the first opportunity.”
“You’re joking, right?” she said, repeating what she’d said when I firstgave her the options.
I huffed, narrowing my eyes. “It will go in your favor to realize quicklythat when I tell you to do something, I’m not joking. It will also go in your favor to learn I’m not a patient man.”
“How? How the hell do you want me to prove myself to you?” shesaid, growing more hysterical by the second.
I grinned, my cock twitching at the thought of what her reaction wouldbe when I said the next words. “On your knees, sweetheart.”
Her brows shot to her hairline as she spluttered, no doubt about toask again if I wasjoking.
“Why are you making me do this?” she replied, a fat tear rolling downher rosy cheek. I reached out, making her flinch, but it didn’t stop me from wiping the tear away with my thumb before sucking it into my mouth and tasting her despair.
Delicious.
