“Yes, you can text me!” Emma interrupted.
“I would also text a friend that I was home safe,” Selina said. “Just make sure you meet somewhere public, and that you chat a bit on the site first before moving it to text messages. A phone call before you meet them is a good idea too. But some don’t like to chat on the phone. And some do.” Selina shrugged.
“Okay, thanks for the info.”
Selina finished her wine. “Good luck and let me know how you get on. You do have to sort the wheat from the chaff, but it’s worth it!”
“Thanks so much for all your advice.”
In the pub car park, Emma and Maya hugged.
“Right, Missus,” Emma said sternly, “I want you to go straight home and take a look at that site Selina suggested. Let’s get you dating!”
Maya sighed. “Yes, boss.” She loved her best friend, and Emma was right. There was no point putting this off. She had to get herself back out there. Kyle had moved on, and so should she.
