Page 70 of Sent To A Fantasy World and Now All the Men Want Me: Vol. 1
“Oh, I’d wait until they awoke first. Wouldn’t want them to miss the fun.”
How wrong was it to stand between them, hearing them talk about legit murder, and yet feel all warm and toasty on the inside?
“Can we crawl into bed now?” I asked. Not necessarily because I wanted to sleep. I just wanted to be squeezed between them. Surrounded by them. “Make an Evan burrito.”
Briar stepped into my field of vision and cocked his head. “An Evan… burrito?”
“Again with that strange way of speech,” Maddox said.
“You’re strange,” I shot back. “With your devilishly good looks, rippling muscles, and huge… heart.”
“Heart. Yes. I’m sure that’s exactly what you intended to say.” Maddox nodded to the bed. “Get in before I throw you.”
“Oh, sir knight.” I brought a hand to the edge of my mouth and chewed my bottom lip, making my eyes all big and vulnerable. “Please don’t be rough with me. I’m just a delicate little thing, you see.”
Maddox caught me around the waist, and I squealed as he tossed me onto the mattress. Laughing, Briar joined me on the bed and took position against the wall. Maddox slid in next, a raspy chuckle vibrating in his chest. Soon, I was wedged between them, me on my back and them on their sides facing me.
My cheeks ached from smiling.
“Good night,” I said before kissing Maddox. I then turned my head and did the same to Briar. Both of them settled in closer, their arms sliding across my stomach as they held me.
“Good night, muffin,” Maddox murmured, nuzzling the side of my hair.
I snickered at the pet name.
“Sleep well, love.” Briar rested his head beside mine on the pillow, fingers skating across my belly, soothing me.
That’s when I recalled the second part of the wish I’d made on the stone. I’d wished for another life—check—but also that I’d find someone to love me forme. Someone who would look at my flaws and quirks and love me all the more for them.
As I lay between Maddox and Briar, the three of us snuggled close together, I wondered if I’d finally found it.
Finally foundthem.
Chapter Ten
The Return of the Cat Boy
I awoke to birds chittering outside the window. Sunlight streamed in, the golden beam a comfort after the stormy night.
Voices sounded from outside the door, men chatting as they passed by, boots heavy on the floorboards. A few laughed.
I stretched my arms above my head, expecting to feel that familiar ache that followed a night of hard sex. It never came. My muscles were a bit sore, but there wasn’t even a hint of pain.
Briar.Affection bounced around in my chest, each place it hit becoming warm and tingly. He’d used magic to make sure it wouldn’t hurt. Maddox had been so gentle with me too. The tenderness in his blue eyes as our gazes had locked during sex gave me butterflies.
Yep. No doubt about it.
I was crazy about both of them.
The sheet was cold where they should’ve been lying on each side of me. I pressed my face into the pillow, picking up both of their scents—warm spice and something lightly fruity and sweet.
A light rapping came at the door. “Evan? You awake?” It creaked open before Callum stuck his head into the room, a cinnamon roll grin not far behind. “Good morning.”
“Morning,” I croaked before sitting up in bed. The tunic Maddox had given me to wear fell off one shoulder, the top having come unfastened overnight. “Do I smell coffee?”
“Good nose.” Callum stepped farther into the room and nudged the door closed with his foot. He held a small tray with a steaming mug and food. The golden pastry on the plate definitely got my attention. “Captain Maddox brewed some especially for you. And Briar sent over this.” He nodded to the food. “A croissant with blueberry jam and a side of fruit.”
My heart was close to bursting. Not only had the two of them taken care of me last night—during and after sex—but they’d gone out of their way that morning to make me breakfast too, despite their busy schedules.
