Chapter Three
A va’s shoulder joint screamed as her humerus was wrenched from the cup-shaped shoulder socket when the shaggy beast plucked her from the ground as though she weighed nothing. A tsunami of pain shot through her body. Everything blacked out, and when she came around, her stomach was being shoved into her throat while the world was upside down. No, that wasn’t it. She’d been thrown over the shoulder of one of the shaggy aliens who looked like something crossed between a wild lion and a Yeti.
Her world tilted again, and she realised the alien ran so fast everything was a blur. Or it might have been because tears obscured her vision and her brain stuttered through the next wave of agony as she was jostled off the stage, through a doorway and into an alley. Her arms and legs flopped uselessly as the alien’s massive shoulder pounded into her stomach. It clutched her with an arm so thick and strong that it wrapped over her body and locked both legs together so firmly she couldn’t even manage to kick.
A wave of sickness crashed through her as her stomach pounded into its shoulder with every jolting step compounded by the white-hot poker in her shoulder. Hot bile shot out of her mouth and down the being’s back. She didn’t care.
Her brain had refused to work not long after six of the horrifying aliens had stalked onto the stage towards their pathetic little group. Then the aliens had become caught in an argument with the crocs. She was one of the last three women that were sold. Sold! Like cattle.
Aliens of all kinds and descriptions were packed into the small auditorium. Ava’s legs had threatened to give out on her as she’d been prodded on stage, while someone had actually fainted. A reptile alien had kicked her until she’d stirred, before hauling her to the front of the line preceding a cacophony of whistles, yells, and grunts from the audience. The poor women barely managed to stand upright as symbols flashed across a floating screen over the stage.
The symbols changed from red to green and a snarling, midnight-black alien with white fangs that protruded from its top lips to half way down its neck jumped onto the stage, whipped the half delirious woman from the claws of the Reptiles, and disappeared at the other end of the stage.
“Fuck this.” The woman with the red hair that had fought the reptile aliens stood next to Ava. Before Ava could blink, the redhead had darted from their pathetic, shivering little group.
She’d only made it two paces before one of the reptile aliens zapped her with a streak of blue light and she’d collapsed to the floor, skidding a little way with the momentum of the impact.
“Stupid female.” The reptile alien had stood over the redhead and then kicked her when her blue eyes fluttered open. “You’ll be last. The worst of them will be desperate to buy then.”
The rest of the women were sold, and one by one aliens from Ava’s worst nightmares and some she had no name for came onto the stage, picked up the unlucky woman they’d bought, and disappeared. The teen Ava had tried to comfort was one of the first and had been taken by a winged alien that reminded Ava of a mythical elf, but when his icy eyes tracked over the teen there was nothing beautiful about it. His clawed hand had curled about her arm, and then he’d unfurled his magnificent wings and flown right out of the auditorium. Ava had gagged, her stomach hollowing before the poor girl’s scream was cut off as a door slammed behind them.
Then there were only three of them left. Herself, the redhead, and the blonde with the tangled hair. Hot tears tracked down her cheeks. Ava hadn’t realised she’d been crying until her cheeks grew cold with the wetness. The symbols on the screen jumped. The hoots, hollers, and grunts grew louder and then Ava realised the three of them were being sold as a lot.
The reptile hissed at the agitated crowd, then picked up a strand of her long hair as though showcasing her attributes. Ava liked her hair. It was thick and long and had a natural salon kink wave to it, but in that moment she vowed to cut it all off and never grow it back again.
The three of them had huddled together. The redhead’s eyes were glazed, no doubt as a result of the zap she’d received. The blonde shook so much even her hair trembled about her head. The reptiles had become agitated and an argument had broken out. Ava’s heart had stuttered to a stop as the lion beings had approached the stage and stalked towards them.
They were at least twice as tall as she was, towering over all of them with an air of menace and cruelty she could taste all the way to the back of her throat. There was some type of discrepancy with the price they’d paid for them. The argument had gotten heated. One of the Yetis ripped her arm out of its socket, then he’d fallen to the ground with his brains leaking from his head.. Then pandemonium had broken out.
The lion-yeti’s boots clanked, the sound different to that of the pounding on packed dirt. Steel streaked below the alien’s feet and the air changed from relative freshness to a sterile, chemical smell. Humid coolness coated her skin, as though she was being taken into a winter mist. She glimpsed solid metal walls and low light before the alien hurled her off his shoulder.
Her knees buckled beneath her, her legs too weak to keep her upright as the world swirled about her. She collapsed to the floor. The only thing she could do was to stare up at the massive alien towering over her. From this angle the power in his body was unmistakable, from his thick leather-encased thighs, to the bulging muscles of his biceps, to the tips of his shining claws.
He glanced over his shoulder, and his triangular nose crinkled in distaste before facing her again. He cupped the bulge of his genitals in a massive hand bigger than her head, and tightened. “You’ll pay for messing my uniform when we get out of this star system.”
Good god, that alien was twice her size in height and width. She stared at the size of his genitals that overflowed the width of his hand. There was no way something the size of that was going to fit into something the size of her. Then, at the thought and absolute knowledge she’d been bought to be raped and used by these aliens, her stomach twisted and hot saliva pooled in her mouth.
“You’re lucky we have to leave now, but I’ll see you when we’re out of the galaxy.” He liked whatever he saw on her expression. His thin lips twisted and he gave his dick a longing squeeze before he stepped out of the room, over the threshold and slapped his palm onto a wall. A recessed door came out of the wall and slammed shut leaving her in absolute darkness.
Her choppy breaths were loud in her ears as she lay prone on the cold floor. There was a distant rumble and she became aware of a sensation of movement. Her sluggish brain chugged into awareness. She sat up, her shoulder screaming in agony. She grabbed her elbow to help immobilise her arm, drawing in air through her nostrils and whooshing it out between pursed lips.
Slowly, she came up on her knees and edged forward. She released her elbow and flattened her palm over hard, cold steel. She felt up, down, and across the flat surface, shuffling sideways until she came to a corner. She went all the way around four edges of the area, finding nothing but smooth walls.
She was in a room of absolute darkness and frigid, damp air. There was no furniture, no carpet, nothing—but at least there was nobody else in here with her either. She had no idea where the redhead or the blonde woman had been taken to, let alone any of the other poor souls that had been sold before her.
Ava shuffled into a corner, shivering and cold. Naked, she had no protection against the frigid air. She brought her knees up and hugged them as close to her body as she could to keep in as much warmth as possible. Her shoulder throbbed with each heartbeat.
Her forehead fell forward onto her knees as she let tears of pure helplessness drip on her cheeks. Time passed into a meaningless stretch of moment after moment of unending terror. Thick dread swirled in her stomach and writhed through her veins, finally filling her mind with unyielding bleakness until the door opened and her brain stuttered to a halt. The light blinded her, but there was no mistaking the powerful form silhouetted by the light.
“Miss me, female?”
She didn’t have the energy to scream before the alien descended on her.
