I can hardly take my eyes off him as he washes and puts the toys away, and although we literally just had sex, I still want him.

I frown, but I know better than to complain. Atticus will always be a busy man and I knew this before making our arrangement. Besides, I have cases to work on.

TESSA

Atticus Savage’s jet-setting reality is a far cry from what I’m used to. Sure, I get glimpses into the lifestyles of the rich and famous through Ashley, but her ceiling is much lower than Atticus’s.

Once we touched down in Tokyo, everything was a mad dash, from our hustle off the jet to the driver weaving in and out of traffic.

The company gave Atticus the chance to reschedule, but he was insistent that they get the ribbon-cutting over with so we could spend time together in Tokyo.

I still can’t get over how big this feels. Like it’s more than just a friends with benefits situation. Like it’s—

But I can’t think that way.

We arrive at the hotel, and I tell him I can see myself to our room, but he insists on escorting me, making sure it’s up to standard.

He needn’t have worried. It’s literally the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

He leans in for a kiss. I melt.

“I’ll be back in a few hours,” he reassures me. “Don’t get into any trouble.”

After I watch him leave, I pull out my phone for a three-way text chat with Ashley and Cindy.

Tessa:You’ll never believe where I am!

Cindy:Knowing you, you’re excited about a trip to Bed Bath & Beyond.

Tessa:I’m in Tokyo!!!

Ashley:Like, Tokyo Japan?

Tessa:Where the hell else would Tokyo be?

Cindy:Are you with Mr. Money Bags?

Tessa:You mean Atticus Savage—who is so much more than his bank account? YES!!!

Ashley:Good for you! You’re like an international sex superstar now. I’ll get you a map and you can place a pin in every place you’ve banged.

Tessa:You’d have to put a pin in another solar system, but we’ll get to that later. First, stop being an asshole or I won’t tell you the INSANITY that just took place.

Cindy:Best behavior, here.

Ashley:I’m listening.

Tessa:I’m only telling you this because Atticus said I could share. I had sex in the Playground.
