“Good morning, Mrs.Beckett,” Pat said.

“Yeah, next time, you can knock on the front door.”

“How did you know he was here?”Ava asked.

“I heard him arrive, and then the noise up the side of the house,” Hazel said.“You’re not as quiet as you think.”

Ava looked at him, and then pressed her lips together.She had gone a beautiful shade of red.

“I’ll be quieter next time,” Pat said.

“Pat!”This was from Ava.

In the next second, Violet entered the room, and she was biting into an apple and laughing.“You two look cute together, and embarrassment is a great look on you, little sis.You see, Mom, I’m the good sister.”

“Violet, you’re not helping,” Ava said.

Hazel chuckled.“Do you want some coffee?”

“Yes, please.”

“Good, and you can call me Hazel.I take it you’re going to be a good boy to my daughter, seeing as you didn’t listen to me last time?”

This made Ava frown.

“Yes, I am,” he said.

“Good.I’ll see you both down for breakfast in half an hour.”Her mother walked to the door, and Violet was still smirking.“Violet, leave now.”

“Mom, this is fun.”

“Leave your sister alone.She is a grown-ass woman.”

Violet sighed and then gave them both a thumbs-up.

The door was closed and Pat looked toward Ava.“That was embarrassing.”

“I thought it was cute.”

“Cute, how could you think it was cute?”she asked.

He couldn’t help but smile into her beautiful blue eyes that were filled with embarrassment.Her face still had that pretty shade of red, yet he didn’t care.“Your mom could have come in here with a shotgun and kicked my ass.”

Ava burst out laughing.“I wouldn’t put it past her.”

“See.”He couldn’t resist so he reached out, gripping the back of her neck, and pulled her down against him as he took possession of her lips.

She instantly melted against him.“They said half an hour.”

“Get your head out of the gutter,” he said.“I’m only taking a kiss.I have no intention of taking advantage of the situation, but just so you know, we’d only need about ten minutes.”

“Ten minutes?”Ava asked.

He loved how curious she was.“You want to see what I can do in ten minutes?”

She bit the corner of her mouth, and she looked so damn sexy as she stared at him.“Yeah, I do.”

Now, he wasn’t expecting this, but he could work with that.
