“Pat said he would see you soon.”
Ava nodded.“Thanks.”
And with that, she climbed out of the car and made her way up the garden steps.Violet had already opened the front door and held a hand up to Doc, giving him a wave.
“You’re still awake?”
“Doc called to let me know he was bringing you home.Mom was tired, and I said I’d wait up for you.”
They closed the front door, and she noticed how Violet slid every single lock into place.
“Where’s Bernice?”Ava asked.
“In your bedroom.I already figured with how late it was, you’d be staying over.”
Ava nodded.“You have a thing for Pat’s dad, don’t you?”
“He’s a nice guy, and considerate.That is all.”Violet yawned.“I don’t need the third degree.”
Ava frowned and looked at her sister.
“I’m going to bed.”Violet ruffled her hair, much like she had when they were kids, and Ava was not impressed.
Glaring at her sister, she quickly pulled away, and Violet was already laughing.
Ava didn’t even feel close to sleep. Her mother often said that all the late nights and early mornings were going to catch up with her.Of that, she had no doubt, and she was so tired, like all the time now.Even now, she was tired, but the thought of going to bed just didn’t appeal to her.So, she made her way into the kitchen, heated up some milk and made herself a hot chocolate.
This time, she went for a cheat, and used a nice chocolate bomb that gave her instant flavor without any of the fuss. They were some of the best inventions ever. She had even attempted to make a few herself, getting the molds, but they were not the same as the ones she bought. At least, not yet. Also, her mother and sister were addicted to them.
With her hot chocolate made, she didn’t bother with whipped cream and carried her mug upstairs.Bernice lifted her head from when she entered her bedroom but didn’t move.Ava petted her head. She quickly took a shower, drying her hair with the towel, as she wasn’t rude to wake the other two with the hair dryer.
It didn’t take long to dry her hair with a fresh towel, and she quickly did her evening face routine, using her lotions and potions. She climbed into bed, reached for her hot chocolate, and blew across the surface.Glancing at the time, she saw it was a little after three. She was usually asleep by now.
She sipped at her hot chocolate and was about to reach into her drawer, when there was a knock at her window.Ava frowned and glanced toward the window. She had drawn the curtains when she entered the room.Climbing out of bed, she made her way to the window, and much to her surprise, there was Pat.
She quickly opened the window, and being back in her childhood bedroom, in her parents’ house, she couldn’t help but start whispering.
“Pat, what are you doing here?”she asked.
“You ever have a guy sneak into your bedroom window before?”he asked.
This made her laugh and she shook her head.“No.”
“Well, today is your lucky day.”
She couldn’t help but laugh, and that quickly turned to a moan as he banded an arm around her waist and pulled her in close.
“You’re beautiful,” he said.
“Where were you?”
“I had to take care of some club business.Dad was happy to take you home. Was that okay?”he asked.
She looked at him, and then nodded. She was not going to complain.“But you’re fine?”
Pat didn’t answer her, instead, he tightened his grip around her waist and she let out a moan as he kissed her, much harder than he had a second ago.
“Does that answer your question?”
