“Yordan,” I gasp, detaching myself from Apollo. “Um, I thought you were out?—”
“That’s your excuse?” he wails. “You thought I wasn’t home so it’s okay for you to let him defile you in the kitchen? I’m going to be sick.”
“You can uncover your eyes,” Apollo drawls, sounding wholly unimpressed. “We’re fully clothed.”
“We were just kissing,” I add helplessly.
“Those were notjust kissingsounds,” he gags. “I’m never going to get those sounds out of my head. I’m scarred for life!”
“I’ll pay for a therapist,” my husband deadpans, crossing his arms. “If you don’t mind, we were busy.”
“You’re not seriously going tocontinue,” Yordan yells, a horrified look in his eyes as he drops his hands. “Fuck therapy, I need a brain transplant.”
“We’re not going to continue anything because nothing was happening,” I insist, trying to end this hellish incident. “I-I’m making cake.”
“Cake?” Yordan asks incredulously. “You were makingbabies!”
Apollo huffs. “She’s already pregnant.”
“Fuck this.” My brother throws his hands up. “I’m going to Dante’s house, where no one violates my sister’s virtue in common areas.”
“Spare me the dramatics,” Apollo responds, wrapping an arm around my waist and pressing a kiss to my temple. “You’ll have to get used to seeing us kiss eventually. Man up, Yordan.”
“Apollo,” I admonish.
“I’m going to tell Dmitri to make out with Jade in front of you and see how you feel,” my brother threatens.
“I thought you were leaving?” My husband lifts a brow. “Give us an hour before you come back, will you?”
Disgust scrunches up his face and Yordan turns around to storm out. “This house is a prison! Absolutely vile, the both of you. Wait until I tell Dante on you, he’s going to be on my side!”
“No he won’t.” Apollo chuckles.
“That was horrible,” I whine, shrugging him off. “Poor Yordan.”
“Yordan is just being a theatrical little brother.” He cups my face, unwilling to let me get away. “He’s fine, love. We won’t fuck in the common spaces, okay?”
“Okay,” I breathe out, trying to shake off the embarrassment of being caught in a compromising position.
“We’ll be respectful of shared spaces,” he says again, this time with a smirk. “After today,” he adds, dipping down to kiss me hard.
Oh, Jesus.
I should have seen that coming. No one can tell Apollo Moretti what to do in his own house. Especially when it comes to his wife.
And I can’t tell him no.
I love him too goddamn much.
Epilogue 1
Rayna
Some Months Later
A scream rips out of my throat as searing pain hits me in another awful wave. I feel like my legs are going to fall off, and like there’s an actual fire blazing between my thighs.
“You’re doing great, baby. You’re almost there.” Apollo’s words, though encouraging and sweet, only make me want to cut his head off even more.
