SAM

The conversation from this afternoon with Ally plays on my mind as I watch her laughing with Bren and Ellie. Not because I’m questioning my feelings for her. NO! I’m sure now that I’d never loved Bella, not really. I’d say I’d been infatuated and, like I told Ally, I loved the idea of her.

With Ally, there’s the all-consuming, possessive need to tie her to me in every way. To see her in my cut, wearing my ring, and eventually filled with my babies has me feeling a little feral, making me wonder if this was how Reaper felt about my mum.

That’s not to say that I don’t wonder what’s going on with Bella, because I do, as do most of the brotherhood and the Old Ladies. We’re all left wondering what the hell’s up with her.

“You okay, Sam?” Dad asks, leaning up against the bar next to me. He turns his head to look toward where I’m staring, and he smiles as we watch Ally take Lexi from Bren and cuddle her. I’m beginning to wonder if I can wait until I get a ring on her finger like I promised her dad.

“Fuck,” I mutter, rubbing at my mouth. Dad chuckles and Alec, who’d been standing next to me, snorts.

“You promised her family you’d wait until you were married,” Alec reminds me.

“No,” I shake my head, “that’s just what they decided I’d said. What I actually said was either my ring on her finger or my baby in her belly.”

Dad and Alec laugh out loud, and I grin. Either way, after tonight, Ally would be tied to me. My smile widens when she looks over at us as we laugh, and she blows me a kiss.

“Jesus,” Dad mutters, rubbing his chest. “You kids are all growing up. It makes me feel fucking old. I’m not even fifty yet, and I’m a grandpa,” he grumbles. He may grumble, but we can see he’s happy, and he’s the worst at spoiling Lexi.

There’s a ruckus at the door, and it swings open as the O’Sheas pile in along with Gunny and Bev.

Ally gets up and hands Lexi back to Bren before she goes to greet her family.

Turning, I place my beer on the counter and do the same.

Walking up behind her, I wrap an arm around her waist and hold my hand out to shake Adam’s before kissing Tilly on the cheek.

“Thanks for coming,” I say as Ally steps away to hug the rest of her family.

Adam glares at me, but Tilly smiles and backhands his stomach. “Stop it,” she scolds. “You knew this was coming.”

“Maybe,” he grumbles, “it’s not a wedding, though.”

“No,” I agree, “that will come just like I said.”

“Dad, are you behaving?” Ally wraps her arms around his and looks up at him with a wide, sunny smile. His face softens as he looks at her.

“Course I am, sweet girl,” he tells her. Tilly bites her lip, trying not to laugh at his grumpiness. I get it, though; I’m sure I’ll feel the same if Ally and I have girls.

Reaper lets out his customary whistle for everyone to pay attention. Wrapping my arm around Ally’s shoulders, we turn toward him.

“Welcome to the Crows, O’Sheas. Grab a drink and find somewhere to sit. Ally and Sam, come up here.”

Taking Ally’s hand, we stand next to Dad and wait for everyone to get drinks and find a seat.

Once they’re all settled, Reaper turns towards me and Ally. Draco is standing next to him, holding a box that I know contains her cut.

“Thanks for coming, everyone. We’re welcoming another Old Lady into our fold tonight, and I’m fucking thrilled at Sam’s choice.

She’s perfect for him in every way. It’s not the first time we’ve had an O’Shea join our family.

We’ve always had close ties, and I’m beyond happy to see those ties strengthened by this couple.

” He stops, and Adam’s gaze meets mine before it moves to Ally, who is listening raptly to every word Dad says.

Although for this ceremony, I should really think of him as Reaper.

Reaper turns to Draco and opens the box he’s holding, taking out Ally’s cut as he hands it to me. “Sam, congratulations on taking an Old Lady and all the responsibilities that come with ensuring her happiness. Do you have anything you want to say to Ally?”

Taking the cut, I turn towards Ally, conscious of all the people watching us.

I’m nervous, but as soon as my eyes lock with hers, it all falls away and all I see is her.

My nose stings as emotion fills me at the pure love and happiness I see on her face.

Clearing my throat before I speak, “Ally, you took me by surprise. When I thought I’d never feel happiness again, there you were, like you were waiting for me.

You are everything I’ve ever wanted, everything I didn’t know that I needed.

Until you, I didn’t know what I was missing.

You’re my first, my last, and my forever. ”

Tears are streaming down Ally’s cheeks, and from behind me, I hear a sniffle. Holding out her cut, I ask, “Will you be my Old Lady and eventually my wife?”

“Oh, Sam,” her lip trembles. Rolling to her toes, she places her lips on mine for a minute before whispering, “Yes to both.”

There’s no way I’m containing the smile that breaks over my face at her words.

Ally turns so that I can help her put her cut on.

As it settles on her shoulders, I look down, and possessive pride takes hold of me at seeing my name on her back.

Turning her back towards all those in the clubhouse to show them her property patch, we grin at each other—cheering, hooting, and hollering going on.

Slipping my hand into my pocket, I take out the ring I’ve been carrying around for the last week. Taking her hand, I slip it on her finger. Stooping down, I whisper in her ear, “No take backs, you already said yes.”

She snorts a laugh, burying her face in my shoulder and wrapping her arms around my waist. I cup the back of her head and hug her to me.

“Love you, baby.”

I know that we’re ignoring everyone, but at the moment, my focus is on the woman in my arms, the one that’s just agreed to be mine in every way.

Ally tilts her head up, her eyes soft, “Love you too, Sam. Always and forever.”

Pressing my lips to hers, I wrap my hands around her thighs and lift her up.

Kissing her long and hard, pouring every ounce of what I’m feeling into it, losing myself in all that’s Ally.

I ignore the heckles and whistles. This moment is for us, for everything we’ve been through to get to this point.

Only when we have to come up for air do I lift my lips from hers. Loosening my grip, I let her legs slide down until she’s standing. Once she is, Jeanie’s there admiring her ring until she’s enveloped in her family and mine.

Adam meets my gaze over her head, and he nods. Returning it, I know that it’s more than a nod. It’s a welcome to the family and I’ll kill you if you don’t treat my baby girl right type of nod.

Mum makes her way towards me. I open my arms and enfold her, laughing when she says, “Oh, baby boy. You have just got the nod from one of the most dangerous men in this room. I hope you know that.”

“I do,” I chuckle, “Adam and I’ve got an understanding.”

“I sure as fuck hope so,” Mum mumbles, moving to my side. She keeps an arm wrapped around my waist as we watch Ally being congratulated. On her other side, Dad wraps his arm around her shoulders.

Turning towards them, I say, “It’s because of you two that I know this is right. I’ve wanted what you two have for years, and I’ve finally got it. I don’t think I’ve ever thanked you both for everything you’ve ever done for me.”

Mum’s eyes fill with tears, and Dad clears his throat, “Fuck,” he grumbles. “You kids are going to be the death of me. I sure as fuck hope Ben, Ellie, and KJ are easier.”

I’m laughing at him when Ellie squeezes her way through everyone to wrap her arms around me.

Standing on tiptoe, she whispers in my ear, “You’ll be good now, Sam.

Your colours match. They didn’t with Bella—hers were always pulling away.

” Ellie steps back and looks up at me, “Yours and Ally’s mingle. It’s beautiful.”

My shoulders relax. Until that moment, I hadn’t realised I was worried, but with Ellie’s confirmation, I know all will be okay. After all, my sister’s never wrong.
