Page 82 of Salvage Him
Strange, I hadn't thought of Brittany since shortly after she left. She saw a photo of meeveryday.
She had changed into a t-shirt and shorts. She handed me a beer and sat next to me on the couch. She pulled her legs under her andfacedme.
"I'm sorry about tonight," I said. "I was in a weird headspace."
"Seth warned me you were nursing a broken heart,"shesaid.
"And you let me fuck you?” I sounded more outraged than Ishould.
"Yeah. I mean. It was fun, plus I was curious, what the Dom in you was like." She blushed again. "I liked to think I had something to do with you beingaDom."
"Yeah, well, sorry to disappoint you." I took a drag ofmybeer.
She collapsed back against the couch and looked up at me. Her eyeswidened.
"What do you mean? You were amazing." She combed a hand through her hair. "I haven't come that hard in alongtime."
I frowned and took another sip. It wasn't about whether I could make hercomehard.
Fuck.
"Harrison. It was amazing. Don't be so serious all the time." She nudged my thigh with her knee. "It's okay. I wanted to get back in touch with you since I got back. When I saw Seth at Crush a week ago, I thought it wasasign."
"Sign of what?" Iasked.
"Sign that maybe we"—she gestured to her and me—"weren'tdoneyet."
"Brittany—" Isatup.
"I'm not asking you to marry me or anything. The only reason we broke up was because I went away to school. Maybe those feelings are still there. Haven't you been curious?" She strokedmyarm.
"Maybe," I said. It was a lie. I didn't have those feelings for her, but she seemed so hopeful, and I had no reason to crush her. I had no otherprospects.
"No pressure and nothing serious." She shook her head back and forth. “I would love to play some more if you want to." She giggled. "And then whoknows."
"Maybe." I stood up, finished my beer, and set it on the glass coffee table. "I need to go. Let's have dinnernextweek."
"How about I make you dinner tomorrow night?" Shestoodup.
I looked at her wide eyes and her beautiful body, and my cockstirred.
"Sure."
Brittany followed me to the door. She grabbed a card from her desk and handed ittome.
"I understand if you want to cancel. Just give me a call." Shepouted.
I promised myself I wouldn'tcancel.
I have to eat,right?
