Page 107 of Salvage Him
"I'm not angry with you. Well, not really. I'm upset about our situation. How we met? Where we both are in our lives? All the baggage that comes with it?" Harrisonsighed.
"That's part of who we are. Why I felt such a connection to you,"Isaid.
"It doesn't make it right,Brooklyn."
I bit my lip and stared down at thetable.
"Hey."
Ilookedup.
"I don't regret this." Harrison caressed my cheek. "I am happy to have you in my life, in my bed, and under mycontrol."
The warm fuzzies spread, but I sensed the conflict in him. I touched his chin and felt the stubble across the back of my hand, remembering how it felt onmyskin.
"You went to live with your dad after your parents got divorced?" Iasked.
He noddedslowly.
"Did your dad cheat onyourmom?"
"Yeah." He pushed the food away and sat back. "It was with my stepmom. They ended up getting married and have been together and happy for sixteenyears."
"You get along with your stepmom?" I ran my hands up his arms and rested on hisshoulders.
"Not at first, but yeah. She raised me. Even before my mom died." Harrison wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close. "I know my mom had issues, but when I was a kid, I thought she had issues because my father left her. It took me a long time to admit it was the other wayaround."
"Would you have wanted it to be different?” I cringed as the question left my mouth. "Actually, never mind. Don't answer that. Obviously, you would want yourmomhere?"
"Yeah. It's not that black and white." He squeezed me tighter, rubbing his face againstmyneck.
I squeezed him andleanedback.
"Actually, we are black and white." I laid my hand flat on his chest. Our skin tones looked warmtogether.
His deep chuckle vibratedthroughme.
"When I was in New York, I met a girl, a sub from Dallas,” I flexed my fingers on his chest. “She asked me if it was weird for a black sub to have awhiteDom."
“Do you have a Master/slave fetish?" heasked.
"I don't think that's my kink.” I ran my hand down his chest. "She said when she was in Dallas, all Doms were either into Daddy play or sought out subs who were either Asian or AfricanAmerican."
Harrison went back tofeedingme.
"You've never been with a black woman before?" Iasked.
"Yeah, just not a sub. You’ll have to tell me if I hit upon some racially insensitive triggers." Hesmirked.
"I guess we will have to see." Ishrugged
Harrison took the last bit of the omelet and set theforkdown.
“Your ex was black?" He picked me up and set me down on the chair tohisleft.
"Yes." I watched him clear the table. "The guys he shared me with were mostly white. I think it was a thing for him, but during the time, I don't recall having an issue about it one way or another. It was all kind of humiliating, but I liked the humiliation because he would build me back up. When we were alone, he'd refer to me as his love, his angel, his heart. In public, it was more like, 'Hey guys, come and fuck my blackbitch.'"
"Jesus, Brooklyn. Your taste in men kind of sucks." He walked back over to me and stood in front of me. I leaned my head back so I could look upathim.
