“Only because you’re my sister,” I replied, clenching my jaw. “He’s probably worried about you.”

“That’s what I thought at first. But then he started hitting on me all the time,” she said. “He’s always making excuses to be around me, and you’ll never guess what he asked me earlier today.”

I swallowed thickly. “What?”

“He asked to move into the apartment with me. Then he came over for dinner, and he wouldn’t keep his eyes or hands off me. He was trying to get me drunk, too.” Her brows knitted in a sympathetic expression, and she went on. “I mean, I get it. He still loves you, but he’s a man. Men have needs. And you and I look so similar, don’t we? Only I’m older and more experienced. I guess he appreciates that.”

I slowly shook my head. “Nate would never do something like that to me. Even if I was dead.”

Sascha raised a brow and folded her arms. “Sorry, but he totally would,” she said. “I had to knock him out with pills just to get him to stop touching me earlier. He wants to fuck me sobadly.”

I kept shaking my head. “I know you’re lying.”

“I’m not!”

All of a sudden, a deep, masculine voice came out of the darkness, making us both jump. “She’s right.”
