Shelby
The next morning after my shower, I slip back into our room just as Letti is waking.
“Morning,” I say as she sits and stretches.
The sunlight streams through our window and over her sleepy face.
Her light brown hair is messy and strewn across her face, but even half asleep she is still effortlessly gorgeous.
“What time is it?” she asks, searching for her phone.
“Only seven,” I reply, looking at her through the mirror.
“I hope I didn’t wake you when I got in last night.” She yawns, still unable to find her phone. “I went back to Travis’s and well, you know,” she says with a shrug. “I think he ended up walking me back around midnight.”
“You didn’t wake me,” I assure her as I look around the room. “I’m going to the store…do you need anything?” I say as I turn to face her, finding her phone on top of the television and passing it to her.
“Thanks. Yes, can you get me some body wash, I’m nearly out.”
“Sure,” I say, tightening my ponytail.
“Want to grab brunch today?” Letti asks.
“Sounds good, I won’t be long,” I say as I grab my purse and head for the door.
“Awesome,” she replies as she stares at her phone.
“Just text me when you’re on your way and I’ll be ready by the time you get back.”
“Perfect.”
As I step out of our dorm, I freeze. Christian’s at the far end of the hall, knocking on someone’s door.
Great. Of all the times. I keep walking, because really, there’s nowhere to run, no casual detour that won’t scream avoidance .
He turns at the sound of my footsteps, his gaze locking onto mine.
His gaze meets mine and a look of surprise is followed by that perfect smile.
“Hey, Shelby,” he greets me warmly.
“Umm, good morning,” I manage, just as the door swings open to reveal a stunning blonde.
Of course. Another Christian-certified heartthrob on our floor.
Could she be any more flawless with natural blonde hair and porcelain skin?
She smiles when she opens the door, grabbing Christian in a big hug.
His attention turns from me as he hugs her back and enters her dorm.
“See ya around,” he shouts back to me as the door closes.
“Bye,” I say back, as once again I find myself breaking eye contact and making a fast getaway.
Well, that confirmed all the negative thoughts I was having about him.
I sigh. I mean, when someone is that good looking, charismatic, and so freaking talented at sports, why have one girl when you can have them all!
