Braces an elbow beside me, gives me some of his weight, thrusting in at an angle, tangling our hands above my head. It lasts so long, feels so good—the climax he builds in me feels volcanic, like it will just purely erase all of me, so there’s only us.
When I begin to come, it rips me apart so beautifully I sob with it, face in his neck, heels digging in his back so I can meet him, lift my hips with desperate, frantic abandon against his wild, powerful thrusts.
It’s the most beautiful, wonderful, amazing thing I’ve ever experienced in my life.
Not a word is spoken, the entire time.
When he finishes in me—with a long, low, soft growl, burying deep, pushing deeper and deeper—he gives me his weight. We sweat together, breathe together.
He lifts up, cups my face. Looks down at me with his features as soft as I’ve ever seen them. “Myka, I…” he trails off, eyes shutting, shaking his head, groaning in frustration, as if the words simply lodge in his throat.
I touch his lips with my fingertips. “I know, my sweet, beautiful man. I know.”
He rests his face on my chest and just breathes, relieved. I pet his back, his shoulders, his scalp, everywhere my two hands can reach.
He lifts abruptly, face a storm cloud of fierce emotion. “Mine, Myka.” It’s barely a breath, so soft, so quiet I can barely hear it. He touches his forehead to mine, his voice shaking, his words shivering through me. “You’remine.”
“Yes,” I breathe, right into his ear. “Yes, Rev. Yours.” I cradle his head to my chest again. “And you’re mine.”
He rolls us, takes me into his arms. Crushes me close.
18Gone
Rev
They’ve got her. They fucking took her. Right out from under my goddamn nose, they took her. Three big black Suburbans, tearing into the parking lot of Sin, surrounding Myka as she was getting out to come into work. I was thirty seconds ahead of her, gone in to have a meet with Chance about tonight’s upcoming security. Our lot, thought she was safe.
They squealed to a stop in a box around her Jeep, four men not even bothering to cover their faces. Shoved a gun in her face, grabbed her by the hair and shoved her into the back seat of one of the Suburbans.
Gone.
Whole fucking thing took thirty seconds, max, caught on camera.
I’m currently being physically restrained—takes Chance and Kane both to keep me from going apeshit and smashing everything around me into rubble.
We’re on the third level, outside Inez’s security command room. She’s regarding me coolly, level, passionless. “You knew this was a possibility, Rev.”
I snarl rabidly and surge against Chance’s and Kane’s hold on me, needing to decimate something—a wall, a table, a face. Not Inez, but something. Someone.
“FIND HER!” I shout. “Let me fucking go so I can get her back!”
She steps up close, face near mine, her green eyes cold as jade, face expressionless.
Woman has balls the size of cantaloupes made of solid brass, coming within arm’s reach of me in this state. “You must find calm, Rev. You will accomplish nothing but her death and your own if you go off half-cocked and full of rage.”
“They haveMyka.”
“You swore an oath.”
“Fuck the oath.They—have—her.”
Inez tilts her chin up, eyes on mine. “The longer you stand there allowing your temper to rule, the longer she remains in their custody.” Closer yet, her long, French-manicured fingernail slicing over the tattoo brand on my inner bicep. “Hold to your oath, Rev. Without your word, you are nothing.”
Fuck, fuck. She’s right.
“Fine.” It’s hissed, gritted through cracking molars. I suck in air till my lungs hurt, hold it, eyes closed. Slowly the black rage settles—it doesn’t cool, but rather flash-freezes. Turns to ice in my veins. Let it out slowly through my front teeth, like a tire losing air. “I’m good.”
Chance moves in front of me, between Inez and me, with Kane still loosely holding both arms. Chance’s huge hands grasp my face in a rough, painful grip. “We fuckin’gotthis, brother. Hear? You and me. We fuckin’ got this shit. You and me.” He squeezes harder, shakes me till my bones rattle as he says the last three words.
