“Move another fucking inch! Go ahead!” I shout. “Breathe too fucking hard and I’ll consider it resisting arrest, and I’ll blow a gigantic hole through your throat. The bullet will enter one side and go flying out the other. It’ll land somewhere in your neighbor’s yard while you bleed to death right here on the cold ground behind your shitty little shack of a house. I ain’t Marcus, Jerry. We both know I’m not the one you wanna pull any bullshit with. So go ahead and test me out. Let’s see how fucking froggy you’re feeling.”

I hear Jerry let out a frustrated sigh before his body finally goes limp.

“Good boy. Now put your hands behind your fucking back.”

Jerry does as he’s told and I slap the cuffs on him just as Marcus comes out of the house still holding his weapon.

“Damn, what took you so long?” I ask him with a grin as I force Jerry to stand up and face him.

“He was in there hiding or some shit, man. When I went to look in the bathroom, he bolted out of a closet. Sneaky little fucker,” Marcus snips, glaring at Jerry, who lowers his eyes to the ground.

I let out a chuckle as I force Jerry to walk towards the car and Marcus follows us, holstering his gun.

“Hey,” I call to Marcus as we walk out of the backyard. He doesn’t even look at me because he already knows what’s coming. “I told you he was gonna run. You owe me a hundred bucks.”
