Story: Reborn Doctor Concubine
Su Li was practicing her calligraphy when Zhishu entered with an envelope.
"Miss, a letter for you."
Su Li set down her brush and took the letter.
It was from Wang Wei.
The letter stated that he had arrived in the south and had begun purchasing grain.
Su Li put the letter aside and picked up her brush to write a reply.
"Take this to Manager Lin."
Zhishu took the letter and replied, "Yes, Miss."
After Zhishu left, Su Li called out uncertainly, "Mo Yun?"
Mo Yun appeared instantly.
"Miss."
Su Li looked at her and said, "Can you help me find someone?"
"Who is Miss looking for?"
"His name is Xu Mubai, around twenty-one or twenty-two years old, originally from Liangzhou."
Mo Yun cupped her hands and said, "Within three days, I will find this person."
Su Li was surprised. "So quickly?"
Mo Yun explained, "The Mo family's shadow guards are skilled at finding people. As long as he is still in this world, we will have news within three days."
After saying this, she disappeared from the room.
Su Li murmured softly, "The Mo family's shadow guards..."
In the study of Prince Jing's residence, Wei Yuanling looked at the man in a blue robe sitting across from him.
"Ji San, keep tomorrow evening free."
Ji Huaizhou took a sip of tea and asked, "What for? Tomorrow evening is the Hundred Flowers Festival. Aren't you supposed to be courting beauties? Why are you asking me out?"
Wei Yuanling spat out, "Just keep it free. Stop asking so many questions."
Ji Huaizhou smirked. "If you were a beauty, I might have agreed. But you're a man, and I'm not interested."
"Who's interested in you! I'm doing this as a favor for someone else."
Ji Huaizhou's eyes gleamed, and he changed his tone. "Alright, since you're so sincere, I'll join you for a stroll."
Wei Yuanling cursed, "Get lost!"
For the sake of his sister, he would endure this!
Jun Mo set down his book and said, "We've been busy for so long. Tomorrow is a good time to relax. Count me in."
Ji Huaizhou looked over. "Can your leg handle it?"
Jun Mo smiled. "It's much better now."
Ji Huaizhou stood up excitedly. "Much better? Old Dai is truly remarkable!"
Jun Mo replied, "It's thanks to Miss Su."
Ji Huaizhou was puzzled. "Miss Su? Who? What does she have to do with this?"
Wei Yuanling raised his head proudly. "Zi Yan's leg improved after taking the medicine my cousin Su Li gave him!"
Ji Huaizhou's mouth fell open in shock. "Su Li? That number one ugly girl in the capital?"
Wei Yuanling immediately glared at him and raised his fist. "Say that again!"
Ji Huaizhou quickly backed down. "Alright, alright! But what's going on? She knows medicine? Wasn't she known as the useless heiress?"
"You're the useless heiress! My cousin is incredibly smart! Her medical skills even impressed Old Dai!"
Seeing Wei Yuanling's outburst, Ji Huaizhou wisely kept his mouth shut.
Still, he couldn't help but wonder. If she was so talented, why was she portrayed so negatively?
During dinner that evening, Minister Su kept staring at his daughter.
Su Li touched her face and asked, "Father, why are you looking at me like that?"
"Madam, don't you think Li'er's scar has faded a bit?" Minister Su asked his wife uncertainly.
Madam Su looked over and exclaimed in delight, "It really has! Li'er, what's going on?"
Her daughter had been by her side recently, so she hadn't noticed.
But now, it was clear that the scar had faded significantly.
Seeing her parents' mix of surprise and joy, Su Li touched her face.
"You noticed? I've been reading some old books in Father's study. A while ago, I found an ancient text with recipes for scar-removing ointments. I tried one, and it actually worked."
Madam Su immediately stood up and bowed toward the door.
"This is truly a blessing from heaven! I've been praying every day, and Buddha has finally heard me!"
Minister Su, usually composed, was so excited that he slammed the table and exclaimed, "Wonderful! Li'er is truly blessed!"
Seeing her parents so happy and excited, Su Li smiled along with them.
The family enjoyed a cheerful dinner, and Su Li tactfully returned to her courtyard afterward.
"Call Yuqi in," Su Li said as she removed her hair ornaments and changed into her nightclothes, sitting by the table.
Soon, Yuqi entered and bowed respectfully. "Miss, you asked for me?"
Su Li nodded. "Yes. Have you settled things on that end?"
Yuqi replied, "Yes, Second Miss believes it."
Su Li pushed a brocade box on the table toward Yuqi. "Good. This contains a century-old ginseng. Deliver it to the Xia family in Su Yue's name."
"If Su Yue asks, tell her you secretly took it from my storeroom and are risking sending it to make up for your mistake."
Then she took out a wooden box and said, "Also, send these to the Xia family in batches, using Madam Xia's name. Make sure Xia Jiang believes you're now working for Madam Xia."
Yuqi was puzzled. "Miss, why are you doing this?"
Su Li said coldly, "You don't need to ask. Just do as I say."
Yuqi took the boxes and nodded. "I will handle it well."
Su Li stood up. "You may leave. I'm going to bed."
"Yes, I'll take my leave."
Watching Yuqi's retreating figure, Su Li's eyes turned icy.
