“Maybe he’ll bring you some coupons.” Summer chuckled.
“At this point, I’d have a better shot with Rafael than Leo,” Poppy said.
Everyone made the appropriate aww sounds.
“I thought things were going better last week,” I said.
“They were,” she replied, taking a swig of her beer. “He seemed to have gotten out of his funk, and we were back to flirting and having a good time. At one point, we were close to kissing, but then he went right back into his funk. I have no idea what’s going on, but whatever it is, it’s holding his attention more than I am.” Her gaze slid across the room. “Maybe I should go on a date with Rafael.” She bit her lip. “At least then I could get some much-needed between-the-sheets time. Watching you guys all pair up has been fun, but I’m ready for my own sexual reawakening. I want to ride those multiorgasm waves everyone keeps raving about. Sounds like a blast. I’m looking to have my world rocked.” She pounded a fist on the table.
I giggled. “I mean, it’s not a terrible plan. But I wouldn’t give up on Leo just yet. The way he looks at you is so intense. We just have to find out what’s going on with him personally.”
Summer rested her hand on Poppy’s forearm. “I’m working on getting to the bottom of it, I promise. Leo hasn’t shared much with Xander, but Xander keeps asking.”
“I appreciate that,” Poppy said. “I know there’s chemistry between us. But, honestly, tonight is all about Yasmine, and we’re going to keep it that way. We have plenty of time to talk about Leo and my lack of penis-driven orgasms.”
We all laughed and clinked glasses.
“There she is,” I said excitedly as Yasmine walked through the door, looking completely gorgeous.
Poppy began to sing “Happy Birthday,” and we all joined in.
It was going to be a fun night.
