I raised my eyebrows. “Um, that’s so kind of you, but—”
“You really don’t have to host us,” Yasmine cut in, obviously thinking the same thing I was.
Having somebody else’s chef cook for us felt a little weird, like it’d be intrusive.
“I insist,” Kelly said. “Plus, you have to come back to the house anyway to get your things and your car. You can also sneak more of a peek at the yard of the duke and duchess, without getting arrested this time.” She waggled her eyebrows. “I know where the gaps in the hedges are. The views are pretty incredible. I still can’t believe my parents bought the house next door.”
Housewas such an inadequate word for that megamansion.
I glanced at Poppy, who was literally throbbing with anticipation, but doing a good job of keeping her mouth shut this time. She was waiting for Yasmine to decide, since all of this was for her and Matt.
“Okay, yeah, that sounds okay,” Yasmine said.
“My car is just down the street,” Kelly said.
“So is mine,” Matt said.
Marco cleared his throat. “My rental is also parked on the street.”
Annabel clapped her hands. “Okay, Poppy and I will go with Kelly. Yasmine and Matt can ride together. Eve and Marco can follow. Sound good, everyone?”
Bless her for taking the reins.
“Yes, that sounds perfect,” I said. “We’ll see you there.”
