PSYCHO

Two Days Later…

Bones talked this guy up, and made me believe, with my whole fucking black heart, that he’d find her, so his words stun me.

He scratches his head and stares at me regretfully.

“We don’t know where she is, man. Not a fucking clue.”

I grip the glass in my hand, and my nostrils flare, as my brother watches me cautiously. He knows I’m on the edge of an explosion.

Throwing the glass at the wall behind Max’s head, it shatters, and he jumps out of his seat angrily, as my brother jumps up with the same speed.

“I’ve got this.”

He stands over me, as I continue to sit on the sofa, with my other brothers on either side of me. Bones glares at me, but it doesn’t faze me, but his words cut like a goddamn knife.

“We will fucking find her. Nobody is giving up, but let’s not forget that you set this into motion, brother. You decided to sell your favorite toy, like trash you had no further use for. We will find Hadley, and then you’re going to let her go, because you don’t fucking deserve her.”

“Never,” I growl in response.

My brother arches an eyebrow at me, and stares at me like he wants to kill me right here, right now, and I’m not sure I’d even fight him if he tried.

“I fucking know I don’t deserve her. That does not change anything. She belongs to me now, and she will be mine, forever. Do what you need to, brother, but this won’t change.”

Max clears his throat, clearly done with our family bullshit, and says, “As I was saying, we don’t know where she is, and I think we need to bring in the De Luca family. Their IT guy is the best there is. Besides, once we locate her, it won’t hurt to have extra men.”

“Benji,” Bones and I say in unison.

My brother is close with Domenic De Luca, although I’m better friends with Drake. He’s a little more my speed, a little closer to my side of crazy. They are a good family, and have always had our back, and we have theirs.

I nod, because I know Max is right. There’s nobody better at finding shit that someone doesn’t want found, than Benji.

“When can we get him here? It has been two days, and we all know what he’s doing to her.”

I fist my hands at my sides, my blood boiling, as I try to push those thoughts from my mind. Max jerks his chin to the door as Benji walks in.

“Everybody knows you as Psycho, because that’s how you conduct yourself. That’s fine in your family business. In my house, you’ll conduct yourself with the respect I deserve. I have a family, and will not have some asshole in my home, throwing shit like an angry two-year-old. If you weren’t a Bonetti, you’d be eliminated for arranging the sale of a goddamn woman. A woman I’d bet my bank account you love. Figure your shit out on your own time.”

“Noted,” I say, while my three brothers watch me, expecting me to tell him to go fuck himself. Another day, perhaps, but not today. Until I find Hadley, I’ll act like a goddamn choir boy if I have to.

Benji stands with all four De Luca brothers with him, and then other people I don’t know. Max quickly introduces them.

He points out a tiny blonde.

“My sister, Mia. Technically, she’s in charge. Remember what I said, respect.”

He continues on, “Hunter, Jade, Nash, and Trevor. This is my team, and they will accompany us.”

Benji clears his throat, and I watch the tiny man as he begins to talk.

“Hadley, before she disappeared and became Anastasia, was married to Carlo Bianchi, brother of Enzo Bianchi.”

Domenic groans, while he runs a hand through his hair.

“Fuck.”

I don’t doubt that information hits him hard, considering what Enzo did to his wife for a year. He nearly lost her permanently. The Bianchis are all disgusting men. They went after Damian De Luca, and his ex-girlfriend at the time. I was convinced, at one point, that they’d take out the entire De Luca family.

“Carlo has been putting hits on her for years, but nobody could find her, because your father facilitated a name change for her. Tell me about Jimmy.”

I rub at my chest, because the ache is fucking unbearable.

“Jimmy Valentine. Bloody Valentine is his gang. Most of them were eliminated a while back, but he’s still around.”

The expression on Bones’ face shows a lightbulb going off. I don’t think he realized the connection until just now, which is odd.

“My buddy Sin had some issues in Vegas with them. I personally eliminated many of them.”

Benji nods, as he stuffs his hands into his pockets.

“It appears, without the rest of his gang, Jimmy may be trying to create something new with Bianchi. Jimmy has been visiting him in the prison, and according to a few people on the inside, he’s bringing in drugs. Also, as Domenic probably remembers well, his house was set on fire. The Bianchis were all arsonists, so it makes sense to me.”

“Any idea where she is?”

Benji shakes his head, as he eyes me warily.

“I really don’t have anything solid on that front, but I think he may be using Bianchi properties. I have a list for you, and I don’t have any order for them.”

Rising off the couch, I walk over to him. “Can I see?”

He hands me the list, and I go through it. Nine fucking properties scattered. It could take us a goddamn month to rule these out, and still not have a clue where Hadley is.

“Any of these have a substantial outside area? Forest like areas? That’s his thing.”

Bones arches an eyebrow at me once again, probably wondering how I know so much about Jimmy.

I hold up my hands in defense, knowing what he’s thinking.

“We are not fucking friends. I knew a girl years ago, that had a long relationship with him.”

I’m using the term relationship a little loosely. He fucked her, that part was consensual, but the repeated beatings were not. I wanted to kill him, but my father ordered me to stand down because it wasn’t Bonetti related, and we don’t rescue women.

Unless they are ours. Hadley is mine, and I know my father would approve. Although, it wouldn’t matter if he didn’t.

“You want to start with the property that backs into the woods then, Psycho?” Max asks, and I nod appreciatively, ready to get this shit started, and find Hadley before it’s too fucking late.
