Chapter Forty-Two
MIA
I never want this feeling to end.
Fingers twisting in his tee, his manly, earthy scent fills my lungs.
I breathe all of him in, knowing that Noah now has my heart.
I sink into his muscular arms, missing the warmth that spreads through me when we’re connected.
Pulse bubbling with vivaciousness, like I’m full of effervescent water, I feel a smile creeping on my mouth as it moves with his, perfectly synced.
Hands sliding from his shirt, my head rears back slowly, taking all of him in.
His wild blonde hair, bright apple eyes, stubble coating his jaw, which is thicker than normal.
Dressed in a simple white tee and dark wash jeans, my gaze falls on his oil-stained hands, realising why he’s not touching me.
“I haven’t showered yet,” he explains.
I nod, eyes twinkling.
“Maybe you should then.”
The corner of his mouth twitches as I loop my thumbs in the waistline of his pants. “Maybe I could come with you.”
I watch his Adam’s apple bob, eyes widening a little. My heart rate picks up. “Are you sure you’re ready for that, Grey? ”
Sweat clings to me, my blood heating as I dig my teeth into my lip. Eyes moving between his, I nod slowly, feeling my cheeks flush. “I am. I want to give you all of me, Noah.”
I swear I see something inside of him crack, like the dams he has overflowed, releasing waves of alleviation, flowing over me soundlessly.
Noah grins, showing off his glorious dimples that I've missed.
“I want to give you my all, too.” His hands move to rest in my hair, pulling it away from my face. I smile up at him. “Come on, then.”
Before I can move, I’m lifted up over his shoulder, my face dropping to line up with his waistline as Noah carries me through the house.
I giggle and touch his very developed behind.
It’s perfectly firm and carved, just like I imagined it to be.
“Wow. I can’t believe it took me months to feel these. ”
He lets out a small laugh as we climb the stairs. “Can’t believe out of everything, you like my butt, Grey.”
“Well, not just that.”
I giggle again as he pushes open his bedroom door and settles me on my feet. “Yeah? What else then?” His green eyes shimmer with amusement and desire, and I imagine mine to be the same.
Taking his hand, I pull him into the bathroom and flick on the switch.
Facing him, I swallow, expecting my nerves to be shooting through me like bullets, but it’s more of a distant hum.
This feels right. I hate how long it’s taken me to give Noah my all, but being here right now, this close to him, my body feels more alive and cherished than it has in years.
“I like your hair,” I murmur, lifting my hands to touch his silky strands. “I like your eyes, your dimples. And your stubble.” My fingers glide along his chiselled jawline.
“I haven’t shaved it in a few days,” he admits in a low tone that vibrates through me .
My smile widens. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to.
” I slide my hands down his neck. “I like how strong you are. Your arms, your shoulders.” My fingertips run down the front of his tee, the soft fabric brushing against my skin until they stop at the hem.
Slipping underneath, I lift the material.
Noah raises his arms, allowing me to pull it off, exposing his bare chest and abdomen.
My fingers glaze over the divots, touching every line as his gaze watches me.
“I take it you like those, too?” his honeyed timbre teases.
Sinking my teeth into my lip, my eyes drop to the buttons of his pants, where I stop. I don’t know why this feels like such a big step, but it makes my nerves fizz in my blood, rushing to heat my face and core.
“Grey, we don’t have to do anything you're not comfortable with,” Noah utters, causing my eyes to flutter back up to his.
“No. I want to. I just—” His hands grab my wrists, holding them on his lower stomach. My pulse quickens as I gulp down a nervous lump. “Can we go slow?”
“Yes, we can go as slow as you need.”
Eyes dropping back down, he lets go of my hands, giving me the freedom to go at my own pace. By the tightness in his jeans, I can tell he’s ready for this, but Noah’s being patient, just like I asked him to be weeks ago.
The metal buttons sting my skin for a beat before I unloop them, stilling my hands.
Chest heaving, Noah takes over, pushing them down to the floor, shaking them off his ankles.
Standing in only his briefs, my eyes freeze on what’s underneath, knowing that the last time a man was this bare in front of me, I was terrified.
“Mia.” I drag my gaze up, face burning to see his smirk. “Just look at my pretty eyes you like so much. ”
That makes my lips quirk as his hands reach for my neck, gently cupping my face. “My turn.” I watch his irises twinkle as if they have stardust colouring them. “I like your hair. I love your eyes.” My smile widens. “Your freckles. Your nose. Your cheekbones. Your neck.”
He moves closer, his hand dragging down. I feel his lips grazing the skin of my throat. Eyes closing, I can’t keep in the moan that escapes my mouth. It’s so delicate, Noah holding me like I’m precious.
“I like your collarbone.” He kisses it. “I like your arms. Your chest.”
My heart beats wildly as his fingers glide to pull off my oversized jacket, leaving me in a loose tee and pants. Noah then lifts my top, eyeing me for permission. I dip my chin, allowing him to take it off.
Standing in front of him in a lacey bra and pants, Noah groans, palms feeling my sides, stopping on my waist. “I like how soft your skin is,” he murmurs, moving to the zip of my denim jeans.
Gulping, I control my breathing as he pulls them down and lifts my lean legs one at a time to pull them off.
My skin feels alive as he stands at full height again. Clothing at our feet, I wait for him to make the next move, because my hands begin to shake again.
“Are you okay?”
Blinking up at him, I nod slowly, thankful he’s making sure to ask before continuing. Sucking in air, I feel his fingers trail to my back, crawling up until the snaps of my bra open and it slides off my arms, dropping on the floor. I let go of my breath as Noah’s eyes sweep over my exposed chest.
“I love your chest,” he corrects himself, swallowing. I get the feeling that maybe he’s just as nervous as I am .
Removing the last of his clothing, my chest rattles as he stands completely exposed in front of me. I absentmindedly swipe my tongue along my lip, and Noah tracks the movement, eyelids shuttering.
“No compliment?” His dimples appear again.
I huff out a laugh. “I don’t think anything I’d say will do you justice.
” My face is definitely crimson in tone now.
Noah lazily grins. “You’re perfect,” is all I murmur before he steps even closer, his skin so close to mine that I can feel his warmth radiating, mixing with mine as he does the same thing with my underwear.
Once they’re off, his eyes glaze over me, taking in every inch of my skin. His face shows how much adoration he has for my body. “I think you’re the perfect one,” he whispers before putting his hands back on my waist.
Butterflies swarm my insides. My eyes don’t move from his as he brings his lips to mine, pressing them deeply. My hands cling to his skin, feeling so close to him. My anxiety seeps away knowing this is what I’ll be craving all the time, his skin flush with mine.
Cupping my face, our lips move together, breathing each other in for a long minute before he moves away, my lips feeling swollen. He turns on the shower. When it’s warm enough, he pulls me in with him.
We kiss and touch while under the hot spray until I think my fingers might start pruning. Shutting it off, Noah grabs me a towel to dry myself off before he leads me to his bed. My skin heats again as I fall onto the covers beside him.
Lying on my side, Noah’s fingers run up my sides tantalisingly slow, gaze heavy with passion. He grabs my chin, holding me up against him. My body flames all over as he moves on top of me, my heart growing as my throat works.
“Grey. We don’t have to,” Noah whispers as he leans up on his elbows, gazing down at me beneath him, our bodies flush against each other .
Silently, I think about everything. About every little thing Noah has done for me. Bringing me flowers, coffee, and his racing top. Every compliment he’s given me. Every time I’ve caught him smiling at me, thinking I didn’t notice. How patient and gentle he’s been. How loving and caring he is.
My eyes start to water as his golden brows pull together. “Mia?” Concern laces his tone.
My head shakes, blinking as a tear runs down my cheek. I smile, knowing that is exactly what I want, and I want it with him. “I want to give you my everything.” My voice is barely audible as his breath brushes against mine.
Dimples appearing, my eyes shut as he kisses me and lowers himself onto me.
“I don’t want to leave.” My throat is dry from the amount of moaning I did.
I'm wrapped up in Noah's arms beneath the cosy blankets.
I never knew how gentle a man could be, but Noah was kind with me and kept my pace the whole time.
He never once made me uncomfortable or vulnerable, and I love him for that.
Turning around in the safety of his athletic arms to face him, my cheeks rest against his bicep. He leans down and pecks my forehead. I soak up the feeling, never wanting to leave this room. “I know, but I need to pick up Jade from Jump Start. ”
Smiling, my eyes rise to his deep green ones as my hand moves down his carved body, feeling his smooth skin against mine. “I’ll come with you.”
“Are you sure?”
Biting my lip, I nod. “I want to, and I want to see Jade as soon as I can.”
