MERCY

I step out of my room, wiping the smirk off my face as I do. I walk down the hall to the great room finding Twitch sitting at the bar.

“Twitch, you’re on guard duty,” I call out to him.

Charlie’s head snaps up with hope blooming in her eyes. “Does this mean she’s staying for good?”

I do my best to fight the smirk that wants to make its way across my face. “Yeah, Charlie Bell, it appears she will be staying.”

“Yes!” She fist bumps Twitch.

Twitch heads toward the hallway to take his place at my door. I make my way outside, taking in the setting sun over the water. I feel the moment someone steps up behind me.

“I figured you’d have already been there. Playing guard,” I murmur.

“They wouldn’t let me go without you,” Blender sneers. “Something about no one being able to keep me in check or some stupid shit. So, let’s fucking go.”

“Let’s ride. I’m ready to play.” I make my way to my bike and take a seat, ready to get this show on the road.

We crank our bikes, flying like rockets as we head toward the slaughterhouse to have a man pay for his crimes against the brotherhood. It takes us no time to get across town to the slaughterhouse. When we roll in, I’m not at all shocked to find everyone already there waiting for us. I park my bike in the lineup before killing the engine. Standing from my bike, I make my way across the gravel just as it starts to drizzle, with thunder rumbling in the distance. When we step into the inside, we find everyone standing around, talking quietly.

“Looks like they waited for the party to arrive,” Blender sneers, watching them all.

Blitz looks up and watches us as we cross the room. “Well, it took you guys long enough to arrive.”

“Raider, what do you need to tell me about before we get started with our new toy?” I demand, crossing my arms across my chest.

“We actually have a couple of things to go over,” Raider states. “First, we need to bring this to a vote as we’re about to play with two patched members of our club. Second, we will need to vote on a temporary president until we can do the official vote. Third, Mercy and Blender, I want you to watch the video of Relic’s attack on Ainsley. Once all that is done, you boys can play until your hearts are content.”

“Let’s get this shit show on the motherfucking road then,” I state with my arms crossed over my chest.

“Everyone in favor of removing Relic as president and to strip the patch off his little helper say aye,” I call, not in the mood to wait around.

Every man stand there says aye. The monster crawls his way up, readying to shine.

“Anyone object?” Blender asks glaring at everyone.

No one says a word. But who would disagree when you have a set of matching psychopaths staring you down?

Raider stands tall with his head held high as everyone eyes him. He steps forward, speaking out, “Does anyone have a brother they would want to put in place as acting Prez until we can officially vote?”

“I vote for Raider,” I shout before anyone can say anything. I chorus of ayes go up and there you have it.

“Alright, that’s two of the fucking three issues. Let’s get this video watched.” I nod, walking over to Hermes and his laptop.

Hermes pushes play on the video, and I stand there watching as the coward motherfucker not only attacks Ainsley but talks about how he is the catalyst to the entire sex ring. It’s when he gets to the part about Jenny and how he is the man that set up pinning it all on my Little Lamb that I lose it. There is no way I can continue to stand here and listen to this shit while he’s right on the other side of this wall waiting to fucking pay for his sins.

I step into the room and see the man that was our leader and president. The man that was the closest thing we had to a role model, hanging from a hook looking as like a piece of meat. Out of nowhere, a throw star flies past my head, sinking into Relic’s forearm just as a second one flies by my head, finding a home in the thigh of the man beside him.

“I see you’ve really adopted the sharing of your toys thing,” I chuckle.

At the sound of my voice, Relic’s head snaps up, and he’s glaring. “Should have known that my little brother would send in the Monsters to clean up the mess.”

“Oh, he didn’t send us in. We volunteered to make sure that you get the best care possible,” I tell him, making my way over to the table that holds every kind of knife that you could think of.

“Of course you did! So how do you men plan to take me out? The slicey-dicey technique? The scare me to death? Oh, I know—the one-two punches?” Relic crows.

It seems Relic finally fell off the deep end. Picking my favorite flaying knife, I turn slowly and walk over to him. I don’t say anything to him as Blender makes his way over to our other friend and starts passing out punches. The man immediately starts talking, telling us any and everything that he knew about the sex ring.

Relic doesn’t even try to deny or defend himself. I step up to him, taking in the fact that he seems to have let himself go. I take in the inside of his elbow, noting track marks. All the puzzle pieces fall into place.

“It seems I don’t need any answers from you. What’s about to happen is purely to satisfy my need to draw blood. Let’s start with the removal of the club’s patch from your back, one slice at a time,” I tell him, making my way behind him.

“Do your worst, Mercy. You don’t fucking scare me, and I can handle whatever pain you inflict. You’re better off to just kill me now,” Relic gives a half-ass shrug since his hands are tied about his head.

“Oh, that I believe,” I state. “When was the last time you went more than two hours without a fix?”

Relic goes completely rigid. “I’m not on drugs.”

“Tsk, tsk. At this rate, lying is beneath you. The bruises in the crook of your elbow tell a completely different story. I wonder if I’d find bruising between your fingers, or maybe your toes? I’m going to take your patch and then play a couple more fun games until detox takes you away,” I sing song.

I spend the next several hours peeling our club patch off his back like I’m slicing a fish. Then I lower the man down and spend several hours water boarding him. When I take a break, Blender steps in, using Relic and his friend as targets. Blender and I spend three days in the slaughterhouse peeling, slicing, removing body parts, waterboarding, burning, and even working on our stitching before Relic finally goes into full-blown detox. It then takes another two days for it to kill him.

Relic looks up at us just as he’s readying to take his last breath. Blender steps up behind Relic, lifting his head so I can look him in the eye.

“You don’t get to decide when you will take your last breath. That’s up to us. If you had the ability to talk, I would ask if you had any last words for us, but since we took that ability—” I hiss close to his face.

“Blender, are you ready?” I ask him, turning my back to go to my worktable and grab one more blade.

“Do the honors brother, it was your woman he assaulted. Why don’t you do the honors? I’ll finish our other friend here.” Blender’s evil grin even gives me chills.

“I always knew you were my favorite brother,” I say to my blood brother, coming back over to Relic. “Send my condolences to all the other stupid motherfuckers I’ve already sent to hell.”

“Motherfucker, I’m your only goddamn brother,” Blender yells and shakes his head.

Stepping up to Relic with the blade in my hand, I start just below his right ear and pull the knife across his carotid artery, being sure to cut deep enough to sever it as I make my way across his windpipe to the other side. Relic only fights for a moment before he is completely dead. I turn, leaving Blender to finish his games with the other man. I head out of the slaughterhouse, ready to get back to the club and my little lamb.

I make it across town with no problems. Killing my bike after getting parked, I make my way into the clubhouse. I just make it through the door when a body slams into me, jumping into my arms. Cupping her under the ass to be sure that she doesn’t fall, I bury my face in her hair.

“I’m so damn happy you're home. I’ve missed you while you’ve been away.” Ainsley smiles down at me.

Turning, I press her to the wall by the door so I don’t drop her when I wrap my fingers around the column of her throat, pouring everything I have into the kiss I lay on her. She grinds down on me, looking for release.

I pull away from her, smirking. “Come shower with me and we can see how good of a girl you have been.”

She wraps her arms around my neck. “Yes please.”

“See, I keep telling you all that he can look less scary. Look at him, there is a smirk on his face,” Remedy calls across the room, “Don’t get me wrong, that smirk is sinister but it’s still fucking there.”

The brothers all laugh as I throw a bird over my shoulder and Ainsley flings her head back, laughing.

Seems that saving her that day at the bomb site was the best decision I ever made.
