When she opens it, another envelope falls out onto her lap, but she reads the inside out loud,“To my precious Little girl on her birthday. I love you more than words can say. Forever and ever, Daddy.”

“What’s this?” she asks, holding up the second envelope.

“Open it and see,” I tell her, smiling.

She reaches inside and pulls out the contents. For a moment she simply stares at the two tickets. Finally, she lifts her gaze, eyes wide. “These are tickets to Littleworld, Daddy.”

I chuckle. “Thank God your reading skills are up to par. Your German translations would be suspect if you couldn’t read in English,” I tease.

She squeals for the tenth time today. “Daddy! We’re going to Littleworld?”

“Yes, Baby girl. For vacation. We can look at our schedules and choose a week.”

“I’ve always wanted to go to Littleworld,” she screams. “I’ve heard it’s the funnest place on earth.”

“That’s what I hear. One of my friends from the police force moved there a while back. He now works security for the island.”

“Elijah?”

“Yep. That’s him.”

“His Little girl is Petra. I remember her too. She was so sweet. I was sad when she moved away. Will we get to visit them?”

“Of course. A lot of Littles from the Dungeon have moved there. I bet you’ll know several of them.”

She leans in close to me and whispers. “Every Little on the island is fully regressed all the time.”

I rub her back. “I know. Are you ready for that?”

“I think so, Daddy. I do it sometimes all day here at home. But it will be weird and different being diapered in front of other people.”

“Yes. That will take some adjusting. I bet you can do it though.”

She sits up and nods. “I know I can, Daddy.” She gives me another tight hug before leaning back. “I don’t want to go on any red rides though. Can we skip those?”

I chuckle. “No red rides, princess. And I’ll order special padding for all your harnesses and straps and buckles so they don’t rub against your skin.”

She holds my gaze for a long time, her smile brighter than the sun. “I love you so much. You’re the bestest Daddy in the world.”

“You’re the bestest Little girl in the world, Josie. I’m so glad you stepped on that yellow lollipop and got your shoe all sticky.”

“Me too, Daddy. Me too.”
