Chase says nothing as he steps inside, shuts the door, and pulls me into his arms to kiss me. This is our routine now. He never speaks first. He kisses me before he says anything. I love it.

When he’s done, I’m panting, as usual, and he finally sets his forehead against mine to say, “I missed you today.” He says that every day too.

“I missed you too, Daddy.”

“Did you pack your things?”

“Yep.” I haven’t spent the night away from my apartment since I moved into it a year ago. I don’t even stay at my parents’ house. I like my things and my routine. “Do you want to see what I packed?” I ask him.

“Nope.”

“Because you trust me?” I feel kind of proud but also shocked. He’s such a dominant, overbearing Daddy, I thought he might come in and pack my stuff himself.

“Because it doesn’t matter, princess. Everything you’ll need is already at my house. All you really need is Emma.”

I turn around and look at my small suitcase. I didn’t go overboard, but I did pack several outfits, my toothbrush, and Emma.

Daddy pats my bottom. “Get your coat, princess. It’s chilly out.”

I already have it tossed over the back of my armchair. When I pick it up, Daddy takes it from me and helps me into it.

“This is the perfect coat, princess. No buttons, no zippers, no Velcro.” He comes to my front and ties the thick belt around my waist that holds my coat together without irritating me. “It’s even pink.”

When he’s done, I pick up my purse and hold on to it while he grabs my suitcase. “Ready?”

I nod, glancing around. This is so strange.

He tips my chin back. “Are you sure you’re okay with this? If you’re not ready, we can stay here.”

I shake my head. My pigtails fly. “I’m ready.”

“It’s okay to be nervous, Baby girl. Everyone is nervous when they first visit their boyfriend’s house. It’s daunting.”

“Okay.”

Five minutes later, Daddy has me buckled into the front seat of his truck and we’re pulling away from my apartment.

He picks up my hand and brings it to his lips to kiss my knuckles.

In no time at all, we’re pulling up to Daddy’s house. I fall in love with the outside as soon as he enters the driveway. It’s a white brick home surrounded by older trees. The front is perfectly landscaped. It’s pristine. Except for two spots flanking the front porch.

“Did some of your bushes die, Daddy?”

“Nope. I had them removed this week. The gardener will replace them with new ones in a few days.”

“Why?”

He pulls into the garage and shuts off the engine. “Because I knew you would hate them.”

I gasp as he rounds to my side of the truck and opens my door. “Why would I hate your plants, Daddy?”

“They were red roses.”

My eyes go wide and my mouth falls open. “You pulled out your rose bushes because of me?”

“Yep. Next week they will be pink. Don’t worry, they weren’t harmed. They got replanted at my sister’s house. She doesn’t mind red.”

I’m still in shock as he removes my seatbelt and lifts me out of the cab. “Come on, princess. Let’s go inside.”
