CHAPTER SIXTEEN

NAKOA

“ N akoa Hokulani?”

My name whispered on my mate’s luscious lips is like a prayer I’ve long awaited to be answered. She’s so radiant still dripping wet from being pelted by the rain storm, her perky nipples pressing against my chest as I hold her closer.

“Nakoa Hokulani… My apex alpha,”

She repeats my name, and I can’t suppress my shutter, gripping her tightly and holding her close so close in fact that we are hearts that get each other sharing the same faint rhythm.

I know what she’s trying to do, to sway me away from my pack and into the palm of her hand. But can she tell, the look in her eyes? The way she’s getting snared by me? So alluring

It’s a beautiful name. So why do some of them call you Navi? It doesn’t sound like a nickname that names since compared to Raphi.

It’s short for Navigation.

She scoffs, wrinkling her cute little nose, her thick freckles swaying back and forth.

I know that already. I’m saying, how do you get a nickname like Navigation from a name as beautiful as Nakoa?

It’s the name I chose. After losing my family and especially my brother it hurt too much to go by my real name so I told them to call me Nakoa.

I hold out the compass and she takes it into her hands, slowly, turning it over and gasping as she sees the inscription on the back…

You’re

Yes, the heir to Hokulani Industries, aligning paradise with your pocket.

My father…

Her voice breaks and so does my heart because unlike that jackass Raphael, I don’t blame a little girl for the sins of father. Sins I’m sure she doesn’t even know about.

How could I when I would have to blame myself back then as a little boy for the sins of my own father?

He destroyed my family, and and we were cast out to Providence to make the world’s first prison island a tourist paradise.

But the tourist trap ended up trapping us here forever.

I always knew you were the brain of the pack.

I quirk an eyebrow, amused

So you’re saying Raphael’s stupid?

No, what I’m saying is he’s more like the glue. You’re the brain and Leo….

So what does that make you?

She pauses confused by this.

The hole?

I choke on air.

For a princess, you have a very unlady like way of thinking.

She cackles

Ex Princess

You’re the heart

The intensity of her gaze shifts to my lips. Grace would never beg me to kiss her, but she is now as she leans in closer.

She’ll never beg with her words, but her body knows just the right amount of teasing to determine

One of these days, I’ll make her say the desires of her heart. She refuses to put into words.

But tonight she’ll be too busy, sucking my dick, stroking my knot with her tongue, and cradling my balls to form such pretty poetry for me.

I kiss away her tears, and then kiss her tearstained lips was vigor.

Grace is mine.

We were born to find each other.

And now that the stars have aligned, I will do anything to protect our bond.

Nakoa!

Leo’s booming voice carries over then wind before we can go any further. Without a word, we exchange a knowing look. Our seclusion has come to an end.

She twirls her mask in the light with a solemn expression, bathed in moonlight. I bite back the compliment I so desperately want to say, as well as the urge to finally remove her tattered black dress and dump it where it belongs. Trash should never cover any omega, let alone my omega.

But I don’t make my thoughts known, doing my best to maintain a neutral expression. Grace doesn’t respond well to anything other than being fucked and being left alone to stew in her thoughts.

Why rabbits and foxes.

I shrug.

Some rich bastards were into throwing animal themed costumes parties back when Providence was a vacation spot. And it kind of stuck. Like a local tradition only it’s a few years old, not centuries.

She nods slowly.

So what, a bunch of nudist foxes cornered the bunnies.

I smile at that, before quickly masking it with the mask I’ve learned to wear around her.

Nakoa?

Who knows. For us it was humiliation ritual.

She doesn’t ask me to elaborate. Grace is smart enough to know what used to happen to alphas and betas forced to wear the mask.

No omegas. No women either. For what?

Years.

She frowns at this, before chucking the mask over the side of the cliff.

We watch as it flutters on the wind, before landing face up in a pool of water below created by yet another waterfall.

Sorry to litter. But I figure this place is already a dump.

I don’t mention that it’s also our home. Why bother? She’ll come to terms with it soon enough.

Standing up abruptly, Grace walks beside me, before stepping in front. I stare up at her, and before I know it my hands are gripping her smooth thighs.

Her scent. Her fucking scent is driving me wild.

Grace? I murmur, choking on my own salvation like a damn dog.

Since you seem the most determined to make small talk with me, how about you put your mouth to better use.

I’m still in heat.

She’s insatiable, and I have a sinking suspicion I know why. But I bury it deep down inside, clutch her hips, and lift her until she’s settled in place.

I’ll gladly allow her to take out all her frustration by riding my face, if only to ignore what’s blossoming between all of us.
