CHAPTER FORTY

Mason

ONE MONTH LATER

It’s been a few days since we brought the twins home, and Daisy’s finally starting to feel like herself again. I’m sitting on the couch, holding our son, Cole, in my arms.

His little face is scrunched up, all sleepy and content, but when his gaze meets mine, it’s Daisy’s eyes watching me. They’re wide and curious, always looking around, taking everything in. It makes my heart ache in the best way.

Daisy’s across from me in the armchair, nursing Noah, our second son. He’s a little bigger than Cole, with slightly chubbier cheeks.

I watch as he tugs at her nipple, content, while Daisy runs her fingers through his hair. It’s a beautiful sight—her looking so peaceful, so full of life, even though we’re all still adjusting to this new chapter.

She pulls away from him gently, glancing up at me with a soft smile. “Mason,” she says, her voice almost too quiet, “did you talk to your mom about the, uh, you know?”

I nod. “Yeah, I did. She suggested we try cabbage leaves to help with the nipple soreness. Says that’ll soothe ’em since the little guys keep tugging so much.”

Daisy’s eyes widen for a second, and then she chuckles softly. “Cabbage leaves?” She shakes her head with a smile. “I guess I’ll give it a try.”

“Yeah, don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it.” I grin at her, trying to lighten the mood. “She swears by it. You know how she is.”

Daisy laughs, and the sound is like music to my ears. “Thanks for asking her,” she says, her voice full of gratitude. “I appreciate it. I’m sure it’ll help.”

I give her a smile, looking down at Cole in my arms. “Of course, baby. ”

Her eyes are shining. “When she comes into town, we should all go out for dinner. I’d love to get to know her more, especially with everything that’s happened.”

My chest tightens at the idea of mending things with my mom. It’s been a long road, but we’re getting there.

“Yeah, I’ll make sure we do that,” I say softly. “I think it’d be good for everyone.”

Just then, Beau and Kieran come in. Beau leans over, brushing a strand of hair from her face and pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.

“How’s my girl doing?” he asks, his voice low and warm.

Daisy looks up at him. “I’m all right, just a little sore,” she admits. “But I’ll be fine.”

Kieran looks at her with a soft smile. “I set up everything for the interview. We’re ready when you are.”

Beau glances down at Daisy. “You good to go?”

She sighs but nods, taking my hand. “Yeah, let’s just get it over with.”

I squeeze her hand, offering her a reassuring smile. “You’ve got this, Daisy. It’ll be fine.”

We walk down the hallway, passing Coach Ace, who’s sitting outside the spare bedroom. He looks up and grins.

“What’s up, kids?”

“We’re ready for the interview,” Beau says, keeping it casual.

The coach gives us a knowing look and holds his arms out to take the twins. “All right, go do your thing. I got these two.”

We pass the babies to him—Cole first, then Noah—and they both settle into his arms like they’ve always been there.

Coach Ace just shakes his head in awe. “Little monsters.”

I laugh and kiss Daisy’s temple. “All right, babe. Let’s do this.”

We walk into the room, and Daisy sits in front of the camera, her nerves evident in the way she shifts in her seat. I sit beside her, ready to back her up.

Kieran steps behind the camera, giving a thumbs-up to let us know it’s rolling.

We all sit beside her, focusing on the camera.

Daisy takes a deep breath and starts, her voice surprisingly steady. “Hey, everyone. I’m Daisy, and these are my men—Mason, Beau, and Kieran. The fathers of my children and, well…” she pauses for a beat, glancing at us before continuing, “we’re in a harem.”

There’s a slight chuckle from Beau beside her, and Kieran looks at me with a smirk, clearly loving how she’s owning the situation. Daisy takes another deep breath, gaining confidence.

“A month ago, I gave birth to two adorable and healthy baby boys,” she continues, looking at each of us in turn.

“They are the latest additions to our family. Cole and Noah—our sons—belong to all three of us. We’re a family, and this is how it works for us.

It’s unconventional, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. ”

She looks back at the camera, her expression softening as she speaks directly to the audience. “I just want to say thank you to everyone who’s supported us. It’s been a wild ride, but we’re doing it together. We’re building a life we love, and I’m so grateful to have these guys by my side.”

The interview goes on for a bit, with Kieran asking her fan questions, keeping it light and fun. Daisy’s nerves fade more with each word, and by the time it’s done, I can see she’s more comfortable in her own skin.

Then, just as we’re about done, Beau reaches into his pocket. My heart stutters a beat because I know what’s coming.

Daisy doesn’t see it coming, though. She looks over at him, confused, as he slowly pulls out a small velvet box.

When he opens it, a gasp escapes her lips.

Inside is a ring. A beautiful diamond with a simple band. It’s perfect. Just like her.

“Daisy,” Beau says, his voice thick with emotion, “we love you. We want you to be ours, completely. Will you marry us?”

The room goes quiet. Daisy’s eyes are wide, her mouth slightly parted. She doesn’t say anything at first, just staring at the ring, her hands trembling as she reaches for it.

“Yes,” she finally breathes. “Yes, of course.”

We all crowd around her, each of us kissing her, holding her. It’s overwhelming in the best way. I never thought I’d be here, but damn, I can’t imagine being anywhere else.

Then, one by one, we all take turns proposing to her. Kieran, with that soft smile of his, says the same words Beau did, his voice filled with so much love that I can barely breathe.

And when it’s my turn, I pull her into my arms, holding her close as I whisper, “You’re everything to me. You’re my heart. Will you marry me?”

Daisy’s tears spill over as she says yes to all of us.

She lifts the ring, showing it off to the camera, her face glowing. She waves goodbye to the audience, then runs to Uncle Ace. She holds out her hand to him, showing him the ring.

“They asked for your permission,” she says, her voice shaky but full of happiness.

Coach looks at the ring, nodding slowly. “You had better treat her right, boys,” he says, his voice full of pride. “I’m watching you.”

We all laugh, and I pull Daisy back into my arms, kissing her softly. “We will, Coach. We promise.”

And in that moment, as she’s surrounded by us, I know that everything is perfect.

This is real.

This is forever.

The end.
