Tate Foster: From Defenseman to Debut Author
Carolina Crushers fans have two reasons to love fan-favorite defenseman, Tate Foster. He’s officially renewing his contract for another year with the team. Known for his sharp skills on the ice and newfound social media stardom, Foster has more surprises up his sleeve.
The fact-spouting player also known as “Sheriff” just made a very loud entrance into the publishing world. Foster’s debut fantasy novel, The Shadows of Thorne, hit shelves this week to early buzz among both fantasy lovers and romance readers alike.
The book, written in secret over the last few years, features an enemies-to-lovers fantasy story that even his teammates admit they couldn’t put down.
While his fans are still recovering from the viral motorcycle photo shoot and shirtless beach pictures, Foster’s rise to reluctant internet fame shows no signs of slowing down.
And yes, he finally caved: Tate now has a public Instagram account, managed (and lovingly monitored) by none other than his girlfriend and PR manager, Lauren Williamson, who says she’s still not over the fact that he refused to smile in their first promo shots.
“I just wanted to play hockey and be left alone,” Foster said. “Now I play hockey, write novels, and get told to post dog pictures weekly. I’ve begrudgingly accepted my fate.”
Fans can follow him on his new account to keep up with updates on both his hockey career and his writing journey—including a not-so-secret second book in the works, rumored to feature even more kissing scenes, according to his very satisfied editor.
