D arce’s hands kneaded the flesh on my thighs. He was still fully clothed, but I couldn’t move an inch to rectify that situation. His lips found the curve of my neck, licking and nipping toward my chest.

“I have no idea how long I can hold back,” he moaned, reaching the peaks of my breasts. “I have waited a millennium to be able to let go.”

“Y...Y...You’ve been waiting that long?”

Darce lifted his head for a brief moment to look at me. “I would have waited longer to keep you safe. You know what you mean to me, Alora. Love isn’t a strong enough word to describe what I feel for you.” A single tear trickled down my cheek at his confession. Darce wiped it away softly with his thumb before brushing his lips against mine. Electricity surged between us in that instant, making every vein in my body strain. I felt like it was shuddering to life. “Look at you. You are so beautiful.” Gazing down, my entire body was humming with a dim light. “Don’t be afraid, I know what I’m doing.” Darce must have sensed the alarm on my face. It had only ever been my arms that had glowed before. What was happening to me? “Trust me. It will all start to make sense soon.”

“Enough talking,” I groaned, needing any friction he could give me. Whatever was about to happen, I had no doubt that he would keep me safe. “Claim me. Make me yours again.” We had waited long enough for this. There was no need for more words, all I wanted was action.

Darce gave in with a groan, capturing my lips with his. His touch was desperate. He seemed to need to feel every inch of my body at once. As his fingers grazed my lace panties, I arched my back and cried out when they weren’t removed quickly enough.

“We have all night,” he cooed against my mouth, pulling on my bottom lip. “I’m savouring this. Lie back on this table and enjoy it.” At his words, I gave in and got lost in the feeling of his mouth and hands on me.

Darce started off slowly, licking and caressing every inch of my skin. It seemed to glow more under his touch. He took extra time on the sensitive areas of my body, but didn’t linger enough for any pleasure to build.

When he shrugged out of his tunic, gazing hungrily down at me, I almost came undone. No one had ever looked at me with so much love and adoration. Biting my bottom lip, I took him in. The contours of his well-defined chest, shoulders and arms were pure sin. I knew he got that physique from being a warrior. He ran his hands down the middle of my body, and it bowed towards him like a magnet. Slowly, his fingertips dipped lower until they finally were inside my panties. His sharp intake of breath told me he could feel how wet I was. I yelped as he pulled my panties sharply towards him, the fabric straining painfully against my overheated sex. Darce was losing control. I couldn’t wait to see the heights he would take my body to.

His breath was tickling my chest now, his lips mere inches away from my hardened peaks. When I thrust my breasts toward his mouth, a lazy smile played on his face. He accepted my invitation, licking across my left nipple as his other hand groped my right. For such a simple touch, my body was yearning in a way it never had before.

Darce’s pace was tortuous and slow, each touch igniting something deep inside me. That familiar coil was unravelling. Once he was satisfied that my breasts had had enough attention, his mouth began to move lower until he was inhaling my sex.

“Shit! Please... Darce!” My hands found his hair, pulling roughly as his tongue licked the inside of my thigh. “Touch me! Please! I need your tongue on me!”

“Where?” His soft chuckle fanned across the inside of my leg. “ Here ?” He kissed my sex over my panties.

“Fuck! Yes ! Yes! There! ” Pulling my panties away from my body, he parted my legs wider with his strong broad shoulders. The moment his mouth touched my clit, I cried out in pleasure. Darce had gone down on me before, but everything seemed heightened in this room. Maybe it was the shadows that protected us or that I knew this time we were going all the way, but in a strange way, it all felt like a pinnacle moment.

Darce feasted on me as if I were some exquisite meal. His hums and gasps of appreciation only made me wetter as he continued to lap up every drop of my arousal.

“Holy gods, you’re more delicious than ever,” Darce mumbled into my sex, licking in a complicated rhythm. That glorious feeling in the pit of my stomach was beginning to build. I was in desperate need of release, feeling as if I might explode if I didn’t have one soon. “Let it go, Alora.” At his words against my sex, I fell, screaming out his name as my body shuddered with pure pleasure. I was holding onto his hair so tightly I worried I might have pulled some out. “I never tire of that ...watching you come undone.” When he offered his hand out to me as he stood, I took it, sliding off the old oak table. Shadows surrounded us, cocooning me. “Lift your arms up and don’t be afraid.” Doing as he asked, strands of darkness cuffed my hands above my head, securing me against the blanket of thick shadow behind us. “This is all me. You have nothing to fear. I’m restraining you for my pleasure, nothing else.”

“That’s rather kinky,” I teased, suddenly becoming distracted as Darce slipped out of his trousers. He stood in front of me, gloriously naked. “You don’t play fair,” I gawked.

“I'm not sure that I ever said I did,” he chuckled. Shadows that felt like his fingertips danced over my body, sending ripples of pleasure everywhere . “Let’s get you ready for me, shall we?”

His eyes turned dark in an instant. I couldn't see a hint of the gold and silver flecks in them. His gaze alone pulled every single thought from my mind. Being bound this way, I was completely at his mercy. Darce tilted my face, kissing the breath out of me. His hands were everywhere at once, teasing and groping. Entwining his fingers into my hair, he pulled my head back by tugging it. The loving caresses soon turned into desperate need, and Darce couldn’t get enough of me. His fingers found my waiting centre and thrust deep. Crying out, I rocked against his hand as he set a frantic pace. Darce had fought hard to contain his self-control these last few months, but now he was defenceless and giving me every part of himself.

A few more frantic rubs of his fingers and I came undone again. His shadows kept me upright as my orgasm shuddered through me. My body burned hotter with each release he gave me. He dropped to his knees, his lips found my sex again, and he devoured me in the most animalistic way. His shadows parted my legs a little wider to give him full access to me. I pulled uselessly against my bindings, feeling as if I might combust if I had another release so close to the last.

“You can take it. Your body has dealt with more than this in one night,” Darce purred into my sex, inserting two fingers while he continued to suck my bundle of nerves. “Your cunt was made for me. It has always been mine. It doesn’t matter who claimed it in your human form. It will always belong to me .” I couldn’t form any words. All I could feel was his fingers hitting that explosive spot inside me while his tongue made my vagina twitch in pleasure as a current of electricity travelled through it. If I didn’t survive this night, I would at least die happy, having experienced a pleasure such as this.

A mist of shadow rippled down my body. It felt like a thousand kisses all over my skin at the same time. My release hit me out of the blue, making my entire body tingle. When I closed my eyes in an attempt to control all the pleasure, flashbacks to previous orgasms spread through my mind like a wildfire. There were so many, I couldn’t even recall a time they had occurred.

“I love it when you shine for me.” My eyes snapped open at Darce’s words. I had to squint a little at the brightness. My whole body was lit up like a star.

“I light up this way because of you . That’s why you wouldn’t let me touch you when we first met?”

“Your light is your own power, but your feelings for me seem to have an effect on the brightness.” His thumb traced my bottom lip before he inserted it into my mouth. I sucked hard, giving him my best seductive gaze. “You are such a wicked creature. As much as I want to put my cock in your mouth. There is only one hole I’m claiming with it tonight.”

“Get on with it then,” I challenged. Darce gripped my waist, lifting my feet off the ground as the binds on my ankles broke. I was pinned against the shadows with his pelvis rocking against me, my arms still bound above my head.

His erection was rubbing against my entrance, ready to claim me in one swift motion, but he stilled to look deep into my eyes.

“Whatever happens now, remember one thing...” I frowned, tilting my head. “Remember that we love each other, Alora...that I did all of this for you .”

“Claim me. No more holding back,” I soothed, capturing his lips that were inches from my face.

As his tongue swept in to meet mine, Darce thrust deep inside me.

––––––––

T IME MEANT NOTHING . All I could feel was this amazing creature moving in and out of me. The pulse of my body with each strong movement from Darce was sending me to dimensions I never knew existed. His thrusts got longer and faster as he held onto my hips tightly. I felt as if my body might crack at any moment. When Darce removed the mist of shadow around my wrists, I clung to his shoulders, kissing and biting down his neck.

He guided us back towards the table and laid me down without even so much as missing a thrust.

“Holy Ether. How could I have forgotten how good this feels?” he yearned, kissing down my neck while he continued to pound into me on the table. Wrapping my legs around his waist, I pulled him closer, making him take me in as deep as he could. “Gods, Alora! I won’t last much longer if you do that!”

The oak table was rocking with our frantic pace. Shadows swirled above us, but something about them was different. There were specks of light among them, almost like a dim, starlit sky. Was I doing that?

My body began to shudder, my orgasm rippling to the surface, but it felt stronger somehow. Almost like a tidal wave ready to take down any barrier I’d ever had.

“Wait for me, Alora. Don’t fall without me,” Darce grunted, lifting me up into his arms, slamming me back down onto his cock over and over. Oh, the pleasure. It was unbearable. If I could have climbed into his skin to be that close to him at that moment, I would have. “I’ve got you, Alora! We’ll fall together.”

In his words, a chain reaction began. My climax hit the moment Darce stilled inside me. My body began to crack, light pouring out of every fracture on my skin.

“That’s it, Alora. Let it all go. Set yourself free.” Darce’s voice seemed distant as my body broke apart piece by piece. I wouldn’t have described it as painful, but it was uncomfortable. It was how I would have imagined shedding your skin might feel. On and on, the light seeped into every vein of my body, feeding me, burning me with its power, making me anew.

Everything flashed before me. My human body fell away, and the light slowly began to fade.

I was free . My mind was slowly knitting itself back together. Finally, I knew who and what I was.

I was light, never-ending, Dylin in the purest and highest form. Darce was my opposite, Noxlin, darkness in its deadliest state. His race were my enemy. A war between our kinds had been raging since the dawn of time. How could I have forgotten how doomed we truly were? Our love was forbidden. It could set about the end of the universe.

“Alora,” Darce’s soft voice broke me from my trance. “Are you okay?” He draped his tunic over my shoulders so I didn’t get cold. I was curled up in the corner of the small room. “We can’t stay here much longer. Y...Your kind will be able to track you soon.”

“I remember everything ,” I sobbed. Tears began to trickle fast and thick down my face. My mind was healing, piece by piece. I could hardly keep up with it all. “You should have told me there was no hope.”

“You know I’ll never give up on us.” He was on his knees now, in front of me.

“What choice do we have?”

“I will find a way. Why would Holy Ether make us fall in love if there was no hope? It makes no sense!”

“What if this is a punishment for betraying our races?”

“It’s not. You understood what we had to do...that we needed more time.”

“I wanted you ! That’s the only thing I have ever wanted!” Lashing out, I hit his chest. Darce allowed me to take out my frustration on him. “You weren’t meant to hide me for a thousand years. You said you needed time to work out a plan for us to be together!”

“I tried to find a way while you were bound in your human form, but I came up short every time. There can be no peace between our races. There is no plan that doesn’t involve you being put in harm's way, and I will not risk you. Not while you’re still vulnerable.”

“That’s your plan, then? To spend our existence on the run ?”

“It’s the only way we can be together until you’ve learnt to control your power.” My heart sank as more memories flooded my mind.

Darce picked up the Book of Elder World that had been kept in this secure room. All this time, I had the answers if I had only looked closer. This book was a missing piece, linked to other Elder World Books from our lands. It didn’t provide all the information about my homeland, but if I had looked deeper, I might have worked out what I was.

“I’ll portal us back to your bedroom. You’ll need to change quickly. We can’t linger much longer in this veil.” Within seconds, Darce and I were back in my bedroom.

I started to pack quickly, leaving Evelyn a random note. Would I ever see her again? Darce assured me that I would.

Walking past myself in the mirror, I gasped at my reflection. My skin had the resemblance of fresh, glowing snow, and my hair shone like glistening silver. My eyes looked like I had molten gold shimmer inside them.

“Are you taken aback by your appearance?” Darce asked in the corridor.

“I’m taken aback by the entirety of the situation. Why haven’t I remembered everything yet?” Some parts of my memory still hadn’t returned.

“That will take a few days. You have over three thousand years of memories that need to be recovered.”

“Where are we going now?” I questioned, putting my hair up into a bun.

“To see a few old friends before we go on the run.” Darce smiled warmly, reaching out to tuck a stray piece of hair behind my ear. “But first, I have a need to claim you once more.”

Giving in willingly, I allowed Darce to carry me to my bed. His hands slipped into my sex, testing to see if I was ready for him. His satisfied groan told me that I was. With one thrust, Darce was inside me. Our pace was hurried—we knew we didn’t have much time—but feeling him move inside me overruled any other thought. My body began to glow, and this time, sparks of light ignited from my fingertips. This release was more intense because I was back in my Dylin body.

––––––––

W ITH THE WAY I FELT when we made love, I couldn't understand how there was an existence where we were forbidden. Nothing made more sense than this. Dark and Light had always felt like the perfect balance.

“We should leave,” Darce whispered a while later. We were tangled up together in my bed after another round of glorious fucking.

“I’m not sure I want to move. Gods, are we good at fucking.”

Darce chuckled softly, rolling us so I was straddling his lap. “We are good at many things, my love.” A vision filled my mind, followed by more memories. The memories were fleeting, but the vision lingered and tears filled my eyes. No! Say it wasn’t true! This couldn't be true! More memories flooded my mind, and I couldn't keep up. “Alora, what’s wrong?” Darce caressed my face, searching my eyes, but I couldn’t find my voice. “Alora?” he asked again. Understanding started to resonate on his beautiful face. “You’re remembering, aren’t you?” Pain and torture flashed in his eyes.

A low sobbed erupted from my chest as the agony sliced me in two. “How did I fall in love with you when you took everything from me?” I screeched.

“If this is about her , I didn’t know you back then, Alora. You were a mere child. How many more times do I need to beg for your forgiveness?” Jumping off him, my hands began to burn bright. Pain! I wanted to hurt him, the way he’d hurt me. “Be careful. You haven’t mastered your power yet.”

“I don’t want to talk about my powers right now!” I seethed, striking out at him. He quickly vanquished my bolt of light with his darkness.

“I’m sorry. What more do you want me to say? We moved on from this over a thousand years ago.”

“Well, I’m reliving it in my head right now!” Wiping my eyes, I pulled on some clothes. “The mighty Noxlin warrior, who killed Duska, the Dylin Queen. How could you? You’re pure evil!”

“Alora, please don’t,” Darce winced, looking away from me.

“Did you know she was leaving a heartbroken child behind when you plunged her into darkness??”

“Enough!” Darce pleaded, pulling on his matted hair. “If I had known then what I know now, I would never have done it. We’ve been through this. When you understood what truly happened, you moved on from it!”

“But you did it, Darce. That’s what I’m trying to wrap my head around.”

“What do you mean? What are you trying to work out?”

“How could I love someone that killed my Queen?” He tried to reach for me, but I stepped back. I couldn't even look at him right now. Perhaps, I would recover another memory soon that would counter this one, but right now all I felt was pain and betrayal. “Darce, how could I love someone that killed my mother ?” The words stung on the way out.

I was an Elder World Guardian , with the bloodline of Light. That was how I was immortal.

“I spend every day regretting it, Alora.” Darce sighed, watching me intently. “If I could go back in time and change it, I would. I’ve told you this. Give yourself time to remember how we fell in love.”

He was right...we were doomed!

Closing my eyes, I began to sort through my memories, searching for the moment I first met Darce. The past might hold the answers. Right now, I needed to remember why I had trusted him, and how I fell in love with him in the first place.

The beginning...that’s where my mind was heading. Once I remembered everything, Darce and I could move on from there.

Hopefully, my past would hold the answers I was seeking.
