“Wait, where’s my new niece?” Leticia asks, looking at the table where I sit alone in the front section of La Fatal Piedra.

“She’s coming. I may have lied to get out of the house a little early so I could pick up a few gifts she wouldn’t see. Declan is bringing her in a little bit. Besides, it gives us a little time to catch up,” I answer and usher her to sit down.

“It’s weird sitting up front and not being squirreled away to the back room with the family. I like it.” She slings her purse over the back of the chair, where I set my purchases and purse, before looking out through the big glass windows to the street. Her attention span changes quickly. “Oh my God. That means we can finally talk about how hot Valor is.”

“Yes, he is very hot.” I roll my eyes as Leticia fans herself with her hand.

“Leticia. I haven’t seen you in forever!” Our waiter greets her. “I thought you were avoiding good food. Get you the usual?”

“Rude, but yes, my lover, please bring the usual.” Leticia giggles as the man walks away.

“Isn’t he like our fifth cousin?” I squint at her. I’m terrible at keeping track of the extended family, and it’s only gotten harder the longer I lived away from home.

She shakes her head. “Not by blood. His mom married my mom’s cousin. She had him before they met.”

“Well, okay then.” I draw a sip of my water.

The server sets a large glass of wine in front of Leticia, and after a quick check-in that we’re good, we’re alone again.

“It’s still so weird you’re twenty-three.”

“Yes, well, that’s what happens when you move so far away for so long. Your little cousin becomes not so little.” She hums while taking a sip. “Okay, Valor. Is he like amazing in bed?”

“Could you have said that any louder?” I glare at her, flicking my eyes to the rest of the restaurant.

“So, does he make you come?” she whispers, leaning forward.

I press my fingers into my temple, trying like hell to hide the fact that I’m blushing but knowing that’s never going to happen. “Yes, okay. God, why are we talking about this?”

“Because you’re getting laid, and if a man so much as looks at me, Berto gets so overprotective it hurts.” Leticia groans.

With a sigh, I drop my hand from my head and sit back in my chair. “You get two questions, and that is the most I’m discussing with you today.”

“What is he like in bed?” Leticia chooses her question carefully, not boxing herself into a yes or no answer.

An animal.The first answer that comes to mind is so obvious and kind of fitting, but I can’t reveal his secrets. “Strong, skilled, and reciprocates well. He always tells me that he’s falling into lust with me.”

“Eeee!” Leticia makes a quiet shrill noise. “That’s so swoon worthy. Level ten swoon. I love that for you. I know you’ve avoided dudes before, but like... that sounds like he’s worth the extra —”

“Oh-kayyy cutting you off.” I interrupt her. “Second question?”

“Is it all big dick energy or is he backing that cool swagger up?” Leticia quirks an eyebrow, her cheeks turning pink.

“You’re seriously asking about size?” I groan, wishing my cup of water was wine, but Kerrianne is coming and she’s my responsibility. I absolutely won’t risk it.

Leticia nods and presses her hands together in front of her chest. “Oh, come on. I gotta know.”
