Zara’s POV
The past few weeks had been a whirlwind of emotions. I couldn’t shake the lingering tension between Lina and me after everything we’d been through. I wanted to remind her of what we had—a connection that wasn’t about our families but about us.
So tonight, I planned something special. Something that would make Lina smile, laugh, and maybe, just maybe, convince her to take the next step with me.
I waited for her at the bottom of the staircase, dressed in a sleek black suit with a bouquet of her favorite white roses in hand. Lina appeared at the top of the stairs, wearing a stunning red dress that hugged her curves perfectly. My breath caught in my throat as I took her in.
“You look beautiful,” I said, unable to hide the awe in my voice.
She blushed, a small smile gracing her lips. “You don’t look so bad yourself.”
I offered her my arm, and she looped hers through it. “Shall we?”

Lina’s POV
Zara wouldn’t tell me where we were going, but the mystery only added to the excitement. As we drove through the city, I couldn’t help but notice how calm and confident she seemed.
When we arrived, I gasped. She had rented out a rooftop restaurant, the space transformed into a dreamscape of fairy lights, candles, and soft music. The city lights twinkled below us, but nothing could compare to the warmth in Zara’s eyes as she guided me to our table.
“Zara, this is incredible,” I said, still in awe.
“I wanted tonight to be special,” she replied, pulling out my chair for me. “Because you’re special to me.”
We shared a meal filled with laughter and stories, the atmosphere so relaxed and intimate that I forgot about everything else. After dessert, Zara stood and extended her hand to me.
“Dance with me?”
I took her hand, and she led me to the center of the rooftop. As we swayed to the music, she held me close, her warmth seeping into me.
“I know things have been complicated,” she said, her voice soft but steady. “But I want you to know how much I love you, Lina. Not because of our families, not because of anyone else. I love you for you.”
My heart raced as she stepped back slightly, reaching into her pocket. When she dropped to one knee, I froze.
“Lina Darzi,” she began, her voice trembling with emotion, “you are the most incredible person I’ve ever known. You challenge me, inspire me, and make me want to be better every day. I don’t care what brought us together—what matters is that we’re here now. Will you marry me, not because of them, but because of us?”
Tears blurred my vision as I looked down at the woman who had completely stolen my heart. Without hesitation, I nodded, a smile breaking through my tears. “Yes, Zara. A thousand times yes.”
The relief and joy on her face were enough to make my heart soar. She slipped the ring onto my finger—a perfect fit—and stood, pulling me into a kiss that felt like the culmination of every moment we’d shared.

Zara’s POV
Hearing Lina say yes was the most incredible feeling in the world. As we held each other under the stars, I knew that this was only the beginning of our story.
“I promise I’ll make you happy,” I whispered against her ear.
“You already do,” she replied, her voice filled with love.
The night ended with us wrapped in each other’s arms, the city below us and the future stretching endlessly ahead. We weren’t just two people brought together by circumstance—we were a team, partners, and now, fiancées.
