The emotions playingthrough Ailsa’s features vary from shocked to aroused to terrified.

That final emotion grates on my nerves.

She has nothing to fear from us. We’ll never force her. It will always be her choice.

Rather than touch her the way I’m dying to, I take a seat across from her and Krolic and focus on the tray. “I think you’ll like these mushrooms,” I tell her.

Her nose scrunches. “I don’t really like mushrooms.”

My lips curl. “Trust me, these are no ordinary shrooms. Just try one for me, Miss Marvel. You’ll see.”

I pick one up from the tray and hold it out for her. She stares at the purple item, then leans forward to take it with her mouth, not her hand.

The sight of her lips wrapped around the violet head has my groin tightening with interest. It’s such an innocent move on her part yet so underlaid with sensuality that I nearly grab a fistful of her hair and yank her into my lap.

Alas, she remains on Krolic’s thighs.

Which is no doubt killing him even more than it’s killing me because now our intended is moaning.

Flames, the way she responds to food is so fucking erotic.

“That’s really good,” she says, eyeing the tray. “They taste like cherries but… different.”

“Chocolate-covered cherries,” I murmur, selecting another one for her. “As you can see, nothing here is what it seems.”

While her world also has magic, it’s not like Monsterland magic.

We’re just one of many realms that all interconnect. It’s a confusing mess of chaos made worse by our Alpha, Beta, and Omega distinctions.

I feed her another shroom, my thumb brushing her lip with the movement.

Then I pick up a glass of water from the tray. That item is at least normal. By her standards, anyway. Here, water is seen as abnormal.

Our darling Omega has so much to learn.

I, for one, can’t wait to teach her.

She moans again when I feed her a third treat, her eyes falling closed as she tips her head back to meet Krolic’s shoulder. His lips ghost across her cheek, his arm banding around her waist.

Ailsa just shudders in response, her expression bordering on drunk.

The shrooms possess no drug-like qualities. It’s just food. But I suspect our Omega is feeling some of the effects of her future heat.

I diluted the impact of the elixir before giving it to her. Had I given her what the Crimson King prepared, her estrus would have struck within hours of her first swallow.

But we wanted time to obtain her consent first. To seduce her. Toworshipher.

To give her a chance to say no.

If she denies us, we’ll simply protect her through the cycle. It won’t be easy. In fact, it’ll fucking suck. However, it’ll be worth it knowing she’s safe and making her own choices.

But we won’t make it easy on her to say no, something I demonstrate now by feeding her a fourth and fifth mushroom.
