All my thoughts were about him. And the way he was kissing me. For someone with no experience, he learned quickly. Hislips moved over mine like a concert pianist playing a concerto by Beethoven.
His tongue warred with mine as we fought for control. The things I could teach him if only he’d let me. He demanded my submission. And I gave it to him willingly.
When he pulled back, we stared at each other with panting breaths. Until Jack broke the spell.
“Damn, boy. I really thought for sure you were still a fucking virgin.”
“Ain’t no fucking virgin kissing like that,” Jingles teased.
The corner of Mimic’s mouth tipped up a fraction on one corner. Whatever they thought before, that kiss they just witnessed would keep his secret a little longer.
“Can we get back to business?” King scoffed.
I turned a glare on him. “If it isn’t about sex, what other information is in those files?”
Mimic held my chair and silently pleaded with me to sit back down. I fell into the chair and slumped back, waiting to see what the files said. No one spoke for a solid minute, while everyone stared at me.
“What?”
“You really don’t know?” King asked.
“No, I really don’t know. We didn’t do anything there other than have sex with whoever we were told to have sex with.” Fuck it, they all knew. I knew what had happened to me wasn’t my fault. Sure, it didn’t stop the guilt and shame. It certainly didn’t stop the fucking nightmares.
But somewhere in the rational part of my brain, I knew it wasn’t my fault. That was what I clung to right now as I waited for them to drop their bomb.
“Did you do any special training?” Colt asked.
I cocked an eyebrow at him. “Everything we did was specialized training.”
“What about self-defense?” Gunner asked.
I threw my head back and laughed at his question. I laughed so hard, tears slipped down my face as I tried to catch my breath.
“You really think they would teach us to defend ourselves? They wanted us submissive. Compliant. No way would they let us kick a sick pervert in his precious balls.”
“According to the files, you took regular classes in self-defense and weapons training,” Nav pointed out.
“How would I not remember that? Hypnosis?” I asked, as another laugh bubbled up until I looked around the table and realized I was the only one laughing.
Chapter Twenty-Six

“Yes,” King replied. “According to the files, you were trained to be a sleeper agent.”
My mouth hung open as I gaped at him. This had to be a joke. I wasn’t a fucking sleeper agent. I was twenty fucking years old. Sleeper agents were men in the military. Men who were trained to get in somewhere undetected, take someone out, and then leave.
I couldn’t even fucking tiptoe through my apartment without the son of a bitch downstairs banging on my floor to tell me I was too loud.
No, this was insane. Someone was playing a prank on me. They made all this shit up just so I would confess to who I really was. It was manipulation, pure and simple.
Except they didn’t tell you until after you confessed.
“Why are you doing this? What do you get out of playing these mind games?” I asked Mimic. “I already said I would fuck you. You don’t have to make shit up.”
“Indigo!” I turned at my growled name. Gunner sat in his chair glaring at me. “This isn’t a fucking game.”
I blinked my eyes, trying to focus on his words. “It has to be. This is too fucking ridiculous to fathom. It sounds like a fucking movie script.”
