Page 41 of Meant to Be
“Were you out for a late night workout or something?” Kay questioned as she placed the plate of food in front of me.
I glanced down at myself, noting the workout tee and shorts I’d worn to fight in that night. “Something like that,” I responded. My stomach growled again as the steam from the food hit me. “This smells delicious,” I told Kay, reaching for the fork and knife she handed me.
I immediately tore into steak, cutting it and grinning when I saw that beautiful pink middle.
“Medium rare. I remembered.” She grinned and my eyes fell to her plump lips.
I ran my tongue along my own bottom lip, but it wasn’t because of the steak, although it was quite delicious.
“Can’t see how you eat it so rare.”
“I’m a fucking carnivore. No more tofu!” I warned, pointing my fork at her.
She giggled and sighed. “It wasn’tthatbad. You liked it. Come on, admit it,” she taunted as she bent over the kitchen island.
My eyes dropped to the considerable amount of cleavage that position afforded me to see. “You’re about to get your ass in trouble,” I growled.
I plucked another piece of steak in my mouth, followed by a perfectly roasted potato, as I continued to stare. Kay’s eyes were wide, cautious. I decided to give her an out.
“How was dinner at your parents’?”
“Great. Mama made carne asada arroz con gandules y lechón. Muy rico!” she commented.
“I bet.”
“I brought some home for you. I know you enjoy my mama’s cooking as much as I do.”
I smiled around the bite of food in my mouth. I had enjoyed a number of the traditional Puerto Rican or Dominican meals Kay’s mother made us when we’d spend time at her house as kids.
“Do your parents know you’re staying with me?”
“Yup. Mama is okay with is. Papi is … papi.” She shrugged.
“I bet,” I mumbled.
“Huh?” she asked, moving closer.
“Nothing. These potatoes are excellent, Kay.” She’d obviously inherited her mother’s ability in the kitchen.
“They’re better fresh out of the oven, but …” She trailed off.
“They’re great now. Taste.” I pulled her by the arm to me and stood over her, holding a potato wedge on the end of my fork to her lips.
She was caught off guard, but after only a moment of hesitation she opened her mouth, allowing me to easily slip the tongs of my fork between her lips. Not for the first time, I imagined slipping something else between those succulent lips.
She closed her lips around the fork, and slowly I pulled the it free, watching her chew. A small sigh escaped her mouth and my groin tightened uncontrollably.
“It’s not ba—”
Her response was cut off by my mouth on hers. Another sigh escaped her mouth but for different reasons. She opened up enough to grant my tongue entrance. I tasted the remnants of my meal on her mouth but there was a sweetness that was all her. I pushed the kiss deeper, harder, when I reached around and cupped the back of her head, pulling her to me. I pushed her back the few inches to the island, bracketing my free arm around her waist.
But I wasn’t alone in this.
Kay gave just as much as I did to the kiss, pulling me by the arms to her, leaning her head back, granting me better access to her mouth. A shared surge of energy wrapped itself around us, cloaking us from head to toe. The only thing that mattered right then was this kiss. Her lips glued to mine, the tiny moans that escaped her mouth begging for more. The feel of her hardened nipples beneath the thin T-shirt she wore. I broke free from her lips and blazed a path down her chin to her long neck, licking, sucking, and biting. All of the stress and tension I’d felt waiting to get back home over the past five days was coming to a head.
Literally.
My cock was growing hard enough to drill through concrete. Kay’s soft hand found its way to my hair, pulling my in.
