Tabbie stood just outside the tea house doors, her hand on her father’s arm. “This is a good idea,” he softly murmured as he touched her hand.

“Getting married?” she asked with a smile.

“Yes. That. But also, making this memory here. It helps, I think, to bring new bright memories to this place.”

Tabbie hoped so. It had been her intent. But also…

Marrying in the new tea house made her feel as though her mother was here. Taking part in their wedding.

She heard the soft strains of the violin, her cue to enter the doors. As she did, she saw Ironheart standing next to the vicar, his eyes on her.

His smile was matched only by her own as she floated toward him.

Just outside, storm clouds began to roll, filling the sky and letting her know, her wish had come true.

Her mother was watching.

The ceremony passed over her in a haze, the feelings so deep, though, that she somehow held every moment in her heart.

And when the vicar declared them man and wife, Caden’s searing kiss sealed their bond and stole her breath.

When he finally lifted his head, her dazed gaze met his. “What’s next?”

He gave her a devilish smile, his fingertips stroking down her cheek. “I can think of a few things…”

“Really, such as?” she asked as they made their way back outside, the small assembly not quite following them yet.

“How do you feel about making love in the rain?” he whispered close to her ear.

Her breath caught. There were some definite perks to marrying a former rake…
