Page 51 of Manny's Surprise Baby
Still in a bit of a haze, I felt almost drugged as I fought to open my eyes. Pierce was still beneath me, and my cock was still inside him. I forced myself to move. “Incredible,” I said softly, kissing his neck.
He whimpered, and as soon as I pulled out of him, he curled into a ball and moaned. He shivered and clutched himself, another moan breaking from his lips.
“Pierce?” I felt a jolt of concern as I knelt over him. Had I been too rough? Had I hurt him?
“Shit,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “Please, no. Not again.”
I moved to sit beside him, stroking the hair from his face. “What’s wrong?”
He groaned and writhed, arching his back as if in horrible pain. My pleasure from a few seconds ago was gone. I instinctively moved to hold him, pulling him into my lap. He nestled against me, wrapping his arms around my waist. I felt strangely protective of him, and I tightened my arms.
“That’s better.” He sighed, pressing his face to my throat. “You’re so warm.”
I inhaled his musky scent. “Just rest.”
He nodded.
I continued to hold him, and although he was feverish, he seemed to quiet for a moment. Then a few minutes later, his trembling came back, only it seemed even worse. His teeth chattered and he whimpered, panting jaggedly. “Oh, God,” he moaned.
“What the hell is going on with you?” I was puzzled by what could be wrong. I started to straighten so I could put him on the bed. “I’m going to call the doctor.”
“No!” He grabbed my arm, and he opened his eyes.
I froze as I met his gaze. His eyes were an intense, silvery blue, and I winced, holding my hand up to shield my eyes. “What the hell? Your eyes…”
“Oh, God.”
I couldn’t even look at his eyes they were so bright. “What’s going on, Pierce?”
“I’m sorry.”
“What for?” I frowned, still shielding my eyes.
“It wasn’t fair of me. You didn’t know.”
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”
“It will pass,” he whispered. “It has to pass. This can’t happen again.”
“What will pass?” I scowled, feeling like I was in an episode ofThe X-Files.
He shivered again, and even though I was confused by him, I pressed closer, instinctively wanting to comfort him. But his skin was so hot I could barely touch him. “You’re burning up.”
“I’ll get better in a while. This is how it starts.” He shivered.
How what starts?
“You must be sick. Why won’t you let me get a doctor?”
He licked his dry lips, closing his eyes. “A doctor can’t help. It’s just how it always is.” He sounded drowsy, as if he was half-asleep. “It’s always been this way.”
“I don’t understand. That can’t be normal to have your eyes glowing—” I shook my head. “That’s not natural.”
“I’m so sorry. Of course you’re confused. Of course you are…” He groaned and clutched his gut.
I pulled him close and rested my chin on his hair. “If you’re not better in ten minutes, I don’t care what you say, I’m taking you to the ER.”
“Fine,” he whispered. “Now just hold me and keep me warm.”
