Rowan thought Chase responded as if he had never been kissed before.

He put his hand on Chase’s chest and felt Chase’s heart rate go up.

Rowan’s own hands were shaking as he kissed his Chase’s face.

He knew this was important. He took Chase’s hand.

“Maybe we could take this somewhere a little more comfortable.”

“I’d like that,” Chase answered.

Rowan was really excited. He wanted Chase so much that his cock stood up and peeked out over his boxers.

Rowan pulled Chase up from the sofa and guided him up the flight of stairs to his bedroom.

He watched as Chase looked around the room.

It was done in grey, black and red. Chase finished looking around and turned to Rowan.

“I love this room.” Chase ran his hand over the fabric ribs in the duvet.

“I’m glad you do, because I plan to have you in it often.” Rowan put his hands underneath Chase’s white polo shirt and pulled it up over his head and then began unbuttoning his own short-sleeved shirt.

He knelt and began to undo the belt Chase wore with his cargo shorts; underneath the shorts he found a pair of red briefs with a spot of precum staining the front. He tapped Chase’s leg and he stepped out of his shorts and then Chase helped Rowan shrug off his shirt.

Rowan slipped off his shorts then pulled Chase into his arms. They tumbled down onto the soft bed.

Chase felt the mattress cradle every inch of his five foot nine inch frame.

Rowan’s mouth was everywhere. He gave Chase fleeting kisses over his eyes and face while he moved his hands over Chase’s pecs, settling over his nubs.

His mouth followed his hands. He bit then laved each one and went back up and took Chase’s mouth.

Rowan explored Chase’s mouth with his tongue, as Chase reached up to him. Chase wrapped his tongue around Rowan’s, giving as good as he got.

“I’m on fire for you, baby,” Rowan told him as he followed the line of hair that trailed down to his cock. “I want to take my time, but I can’t. I want you too much.”

“Take me. I want you to fill me up. I want to come with your cock deep inside me.” Rowan moved off of Chase and opened the night table drawer. When he moved back to the bed, he was armed with lube and condoms.

Rowan tuned Chase over and Chase felt his hands caress his back and move down toward his ass.

Rowan kneaded his ass cheeks and spread them apart.

Then Chase felt Rowan’s tongue swipe across his hole.

He lost it. “Don’t stop, oh Lord, don’t stop.

It feels so good.” Rowan lifted his head and took the cap off the tube of lube and squeezed some onto his fingers.

Chase felt one finger around his hole. Rowan crooked his finger and Chase saw stars.

Rowan hit his prostate on the first try.

Chase’s hips were rubbing against the duvet trying to get friction on his engorged cock.

Chase felt the second finger enter his hole. Rowan carefully stretched out his rim.

Chase was losing control. “Please come inside me, I want you now.”

“I don’t want to hurt you, baby. I want this to feel good.” Chase moaned at his words. He felt the third finger go in deep. He pushed back and began to ride Rowan’s fingers.

“I need you now, Rowan. Come inside me. I want to see you as you enter me.” Rowan turned him around and took the condom and rolled it down pinching the end.

He took more lube and slicked up his cock.

Rowan lined up the flared mushroom head over Chase’s hole and pushed inside.

Chase felt the burn as Rowan breeched the guardian muscle. Chase was panting.

“Did I hurt you?” Rowan asked.

“No, it feels so good. Come in all the way.”

Chase felt Rowan push until his balls slapped Chase’s ass. “Please move…” Chase pushed up in an attempt to bring Rowan in deeper. Rowan began to move, his hips snapping against Chase’s ass. Chase moved up to meet his every thrust. It didn’t take long.

“I’m going to blow,” Chase shouted to Rowan as he frantically attempted to get more of Rowan inside him.

“Anytime, baby. Come when you can.” Three more strokes and Chase shot, covering his chest. Rowan snapped his hips a few more times and Chase felt him empty himself into the condom.

Rowan moved off to the side of the bed. He fetched a towel to clean them off, then threw it on the floor. He got into bed and pulled the duvet around both of them to ward off the chill of the air conditioner. The two men lay there in silence, each lost in his own thoughts.

Rowan broke the silence. “I never thought I would fall for someone so hard and fast. I hope I’m not alone.”

“You’re in the same place I am. I wanted you to make love to me the first time we met in the grocery store. I had to thump my cock so my mother wouldn’t see how I reacted to you.” Chase turned over and laid on Rowan’s chest, arm slung over his torso.

“I think a nap is in order.” Rowan carded Chase’s hair through his fingers.

“I agree.”

Just as Chase was drifting off to sleep he heard Rowan mumble into his hair, “I think I love you.”

Chase fell asleep in his lover’s arms.

Three Months Later

“Hi, Marty,” Rowan said into the phone.

“I haven’t heard from you in ages. Every time I call you talk for a few minutes and then you tell me you’ll get back to me and you never do. What’s up?”

“I’m in love,” Rowan said simply.

“With grocery store boy?”

“Yes, his name is Chase Summers.” Rowan sat down with his bottle of water.

“When do we get to meet him?”

“That’s complicated, but soon. I have to meet his mother and John first and I haven’t met her yet.” Rowan took a sip of beer.

“How come?”

“She’s just gotten her feet wet making a life for herself without constantly interfering with his.

Several times we made plans but someone always had to cancel at the last minute.

Besides, we thought we’d give her time to adjust. He’s seen her, of course, but always when I was teaching or had office hours.

” Rowan started peeling the label off of the bottle.

“Does she even know he has someone?” Marty asked suspiciously.

“Of course she does. He spends most of his time with me when he isn’t writing and I don’t have class.

We sleep together every night. I’m sure she’s figured it out by now.

She’s finally asked to have dinner with us, her, and John, the gentleman friend.

” Rowan took another sip. “We wanted her to make the first move.”

“This sounds serious,” Marty said.

“It is. I’m going to ask him to marry me this weekend.” Rowan took a gulp of beer. “I bought the rings yesterday. To be precise, I’m going to ask him tonight. We see Mom on Sunday.”

“So congratulations are in order!” Marty put down the phone. “Hey Stewart, Rowan’s getting married.”

“Tell him he can come visit now.”

“Told you he wasn’t comfortable.” Rowan put his bottle in the recyclable bin.

“Yeah, looks like you were right.” Marty spoke in a lower, more ominous tone to his husband. “Stewart, we need to talk.”

“Since you’re going to argue with Stewart, I’m going to hang up. I’ll let you know what happens. At least I know Stewart’s pulling for me.”

“Smart ass.”

“Yep.”

Chase finished typing the last two chapters of his current book.

Chase was a fast writer; but now that his own love life was soaring, so was his writing.

It was just after three and he had to pack a bag for the weekend.

His professor finished teaching his last class at two so he would be at home waiting for him.

Since when did I start thinking of Rowan’s house as home and here as work?

Since you fell in love with him, dummy. Since you spend every night in his arms, all you do here is write and pick up fresh clothes.

How do you feel about that? Chase smiled.

It feels just right. Now if I can bring him and Mom together, everything will be fine.

Chase closed his laptop and left it on his desk.

He never tried to work at Rowan’s house.

Maybe he should. Maybe it would give him an idea of what would happen if they moved in full time.

But before he got his own life settled, he had to make sure Mom was okay.

Sunday afternoon it was going to happen.

He would meet John Schwartz and Mom would meet Rowan.

He went down the hall, whistling, to pack his bag.

He opened the door to look in his closet for something to wear.

He crooked his head. There wasn’t much in there.

He hadn’t realized it before, but he was literally living with Rowan.

Oh, he spent the occasional night home when he went to see his mother, but all of the others he spent firmly ensconced in Rowan’s bed.

They were living together without having actually said the words.

Chase arrived at Rowan’s fifteen minutes later.

“I’m glad you’re early. I want to take you out tonight. Dress up, we’re going somewhere fancy.”

“Where are we going?” Chase asked, somewhat taken aback.

“Nona’s in Bradley Beach. Is that okay?” Rowan wanted everything to be perfect.

“Oh, I love the food at Nona’s.” Chase attempted to grab Rowan and kiss him.

“None of that, we’ll wind up in bed and I want us to go out tonight.” Rowan smacked Chase’s ass and said, “Git.”

Chase laughed and went upstairs to dress.

He was taking his shower as it dawned upon him, Rowan seemed very nervous tonight. Chase hoped it was nothing he did. He hurried to finish his shower and dress. Chase came downstairs in less than fifteen minutes. He wore a suit but left his shirt collar open. “Do I need a tie?”

“No, baby, it’s too hot for a tie. Let’s go, we have early reservations.” Rowan gave Chase a quick kiss and they headed for the door.

It was a less than ten minutes later when they pulled into a parking spot on Main Street. Chase turned to Rowan, “Who’d you have to pay off so we got a parking space right in front of the restaurant?”

“I have my ways.” Rowan twirled an invisible mustache.

They were shown to their reserved table in a secluded corner by the window. “Let me order tonight.”

“Okay, by now you know what I like.” Rowan mentally rubbed his hands. Chase was cooperating.

The waiter came over to the table, “What can I get you to drink, gentlemen?”

“Do you want a cocktail, baby?”

“Some wine? I want to be copacetic for later.” Rowan smiled and gestured for the wine list.

“I’ll take a bottle of the Cakebread 2012 from Napa and we’ll start with two appetizers, fried calamari and antipasto, bring us an aged balsamic vinegar with the antipasto.

We’ll also take the Caesar salad.” The waiter took the order down on his pad.

“Do you do the Caesar salad and dressing fresh at the table?” Rowan asked.

“Yes, sir.”

“Then we’d like extra anchovies.” Chase took Rowan’s hand.

“You take good care of me,” Chase teased.

“Have you decided on the main course?” the waiter asked.

“Yes, the shrimp scampi and the Lobster Fra Diablo, rice and the vegetable of the day.”

“Fine, sir. You wine will be here in a moment and I’ll have the appetizer here in a few minutes.”

Rowan looked at Chase as if he wanted to see the inside of his soul. “I take good care of you. I love you.”

The waiter came back, uncorked the wine gave the cork and a wine glass with a small amount of wine to Rowan. Rowan took the glass, smelled the wine, rolled it around the glass then took a taste. “This is excellent, please pour.”

The waiter poured the wine and Rowan made a toast, “To us…”

“To us…” Chase answered.

Rowan went into his pocket and felt for the box.

The ring inside was a wide band in thick white gold.

At the front it had two diagonal lines of cut diamonds.

It was exquisite and Rowan thought it still didn’t adequately express what he felt for Chase.

He got up from his chair and Chase looked at him funny.

When Rowan got down on one knee, Chase put his hands over his face. “Look at me, baby.”

Chase took his hands away from his face. Tears streamed down from the corners of his eyes. “Baby, I love you. Will you marry me?”

“Yes, oh God, yes, Rowan Hart, I want to spend all of our days together for the rest of our lives.” Rowan handed Chase the box. He opened it and took out the ring. Rowan grabbed his left hand and put it on his ring finger.

Rowan got up off his knee and pulled Chase up with him and into his arms kissing him with passion. The rest of the dining room broke out in applause.

Chase was still crying when they sat down. “What’s wrong, baby?” Rowan grabbed his hand.

“I’m so happy. I can’t stop crying.” Chase hiccupped on a sob.

“I have one for me, too. Do you want to put it on?” Rowan held out a second box.

Chase took the box from Rowan’s palm. His hands were shaking. He opened the box, took out the ring, and slipped it on Rowan’s finger. They matched.

“Now we have to get together with your mother, we have a wedding to plan.”
