Story: Love in the Dark
F riday nights were family night, cheap takeout and some random movie. The soft glow of the television illuminated the living room of the serene island home. Azazel sat close to Cherrie, her head resting on his shoulder, as their boys surrounded them, all enjoying the rare moment of peace. As the movie reached a climactic scene, Azazel's arm tightened protectively around Cherrie's shoulders, drawing her closer. The triplets, now teenagers, shared a mix of amusement and affection as they witnessed their parents' unwavering devotion to one another. Despite their age, they still found solace in the security of their family unit.
Suddenly, the tranquil scene was shattered by the sound of shattering glass.
A gunshot rang out.
