"Dude… Rif?"
That was Sorrel's voice.
"I'm over here!" I called, waving my hand and immediately regretting the action as pain shot up my arm..
"Weknow. What's going on, get over here?"
"I can't see," I said, shaking my head. "My vision's gone. She got me with some kind of poison thorn spell."
I heard Kinden swear as the car doors opened and closed. Footsteps approached and they helped me stand and helped me into the backseat.
"Fuck, I have no idea how to fix this…" Sorrel muttered under his breath.
"Zelle might, but we can't get him up to her tonight." Kinden replied. "The witch is probably watching the place. Let's just take him back to mine and make him comfortable until tomorrow. We can call her and see if there's something we can do at home."
"Tomorrow?" I asked vaguely picking up on that one word. Tomorrow.
"Yeah…" Sorrel said softly. "Things have escalated. We're going through with the plan tomorrow."
"What escalated?" I asked, confused.
"Dude, she poisoned you."
"Oh, right. I thought you meant something with Zelle."
"Zelle's fine," Kinden assured me. "I hate to ask this again, but you got the hair?"
"I gotsome…" I replied. "It's in my back pocket."
I felt Sorrel rummaging around and he pulled his hand out. "It's not much, but it's enough."
"Good, I said, laying back on the car seat. My hands were really smarting. "Good."
