“That doesn’t sound like a way to run a business,” Leonidas observed, noting that this person sounded completely out of character with everyone else he’d met in the town.
“His boyfriend is a millionaire,” Theo said conversationally. “All of them are but, like, Levi is just Levi.”
Suddenly the back door behind Ronan flew open and a tall man with a swoop of blond hair and a white doctor’s coat brushed into the office. He hooked a hand around the back of Ronan’s neck and pulled him into a kiss so passionate, it had Leonidas and Theo blushing.
“You’re supposed to be at work,” Ronan mumbled against the man’s mouth.
“You taste like bagels.”
The man arched one of his brows and shifted his attention toward Theo.
“You brought him bagels?”
“You know Levi says you’re not allowed.” Theo glanced sideways at Leonidas. “This is Parker. He’s Ronan’s husband. He’s also our only doctor.”
“An unfortunate event, indeed.” Parker turned his attention to Leonidas, giving him a look so thorough, Leonidas touched his shirt to make sure he was still dressed. “Who’s this?”
“This is Leonidas,” Theo answered, before Leonidas could. “He’s visiting Andy.”
“No.” Parker dropped his arms to his sides, and that was when Leonidas realized he only had one.
“I’m sorry?” Leonidas asked.
“No,” Parker repeated, his thin mouth dipping down into a frown. “That’s just…inherently unfair.”
“What’s unfair?” he asked.
Theo huffed out a small laugh. “Your husband is right there, Parker.”
"He’s not wrong,” Ronan’s mouth flashed into a quick smile before he turned his attention back to his husband.
“What’s going on?” Leonidas asked, still not entirely sure what Parker was talking about.
“You’re hot, Leo,” Theo said, rolling his eyes. “We’re talking about how hot you are.”
Leonidas’s cheeks heated and he looked down.
“Anyway,” Parker interjected, “How long are you in town for?”
“I don’t know,” he answered. “That’s what I’m here for, to talk to Ronan about a rental.”
“Long term,” Theo chimed in.
“I don’t know.”
“You’ll be here awhile,” Theo said with a grin.
“Well, whatever you do, make sure you definitely try a blow job in a canoe,” Parker offered.
“That is the exact opposite advice that Ronan gave me,” Theo said.
“My husband lacks a sense of adventure sometimes,” Parker said with a shrug. He reached down below the desk where Leonidas couldn’t see. Ronan’s nostrils flared and he grunted, a rough moan tearing out of his throat, then Parker raised his arm, a bagel clenched in his fist. “I knew it.”
“How did you even know I’d brought Ronan bagels?” Theo laughed.
“I knew it was you.” Parker pointed at Theo. “Eddie showed up to work with bagel breath and I knew Levi had been around.”
“Don’t you have patients?” Ronan asked.
