Page 5 of Knot Letting Go (Knotty Streak Omegaverse #4)

It had been an incredible day of celebration yesterday, but this morning’s surprise gift promised to keep on giving.

If Aubrielle got over her Omega timidity.

Yet it was hot in an ‘I want to take this proper girl and make her do highly improper things’ way.

Like right now I wanted to take her behind the potted plants at the end of the hall and fuck her hard.

Kon had given me a warning though. Fuck, ever since we’d been back after my bastard of a father died, Kon had been laying down the rules.

No messing with the household staff, no sleeping with business associates, and no bringing any of my lovers near Lillianna.

It was no wonder he never had any fun. Actually, I had very little fun since we’d returned last year. It sucked.

But now this sexy vixen was my niece’s new nanny. An Omega who smelled of sweet pear and delicate ambrette mingled with roses. Her musk was everything heavenly and feminine, and fuck, I wanted to taste her.

Except Aubrielle was afraid to even touch me.

That was going to change. I would make sure of it.

I retracted my proffered arm and crooked a finger as I started down the hall. “Follow me, darling. I’m sure you’ve been wandering around the manor all weekend. Did Callista give you a tour?”

The tension in her shoulders eased, but she still clutched the papers to her. “A quick one. I was here a few times when we were teenagers as well.”

“That’s right. I remember Calli telling me about her sleepover weekends.

Too bad I wasn’t here to meet you then, but my father wanted both Kon and I to be schooled at his alma mater in Tuscany.

” A school which I’d hated. I had several suspensions, but they never expelled me because of who my father was, and I’d tried my damnedest to do so.

“So you know where the kitchen and most things are in the house then.”

“Yes. Does the rest of the staff live at the manor too?” Aubrielle followed a few feet behind me with the papers clasped before her.

She made for a saintly figure in her long floral skirt and white blouse.

When a beam of sunlight crossed over her, I could almost see her bra through the thin material. Delectable.

“We used to have live-in staff, but not now. The cook and the housekeepers live in town. The butler who lived here since I was a kid now lives in Seattle taking care of my mom. I always thought he was a stuffy old fogey, but he proved to be a decent fellow.” More than a decent guy, really.

He’d saved all the women in the manor when my father went off the edge and nearly killed my sister.

I still couldn’t believe I shared that asshole’s blood.

We entered the kitchen and the white haired cook looked up from where she was eating a piece of toast and composing the week’s menu. I grinned and went over to kiss her cheek. “Good morning, Enid. How’s the best cook in the world?”

Enid patted my cheek. “You silly boy. I’m fine. Still smiling after Callista’s wedding yesterday. It was beautiful.” She leaned her head to the side and dipped her head to Aubrielle. “Good morning, miss. Would you like some breakfast before you’re on your way?”

“Aubrielle isn’t going anywhere!” I crowed and gestured grandly to the blushing Omega. “Enid, meet Aubrielle. She’s Lilli’s new nanny as of this morning.”

“Pleased to meet you.” Aubrielle smiled that sweet, shy smile of hers.

Enid rose and went over to hug her. “So wonderful to have you join us, dearie. Lillianna will be thrilled to have you here. Her previous nanny, Paula, well, she was more suited to being a sergeant in the army than taking care of a sensitive child.”

“Oh, you can say it, Enid. Paula was a bitch.” I chuckled, and fuck, I was glad she was gone.

Paula had tried to climb into my bed, but I laid down the law fast. I knew a gold digger when I met one, and she was willing to do anything for a rich husband.

No thanks. “But Aubrielle here, she’s not only beautiful, she’s a sweetheart. ”

More blushing. I couldn’t get enough of it.

“Don’t you mind Quill, dearie. He’s a notorious flatterer.

Even as a boy, he would come into the kitchen and sweet talk me into giving him treats.

” Enid patted Aubrielle’s back like a doting grandma.

“When you have the time, please write up a list of your favorite dishes and any allergies you have and leave it with me here. We’ll have to have a welcome dinner some time this week. ”

“Oh, you don’t need to make a fuss.” Aubrielle looked like she wanted to hide behind the papers she was carrying. Someone needed to break that Omega out of her shell, and fuck, I wanted it to be me. I was caring less and less for Kon’s rules every minute I spent in her company.

“Nonsense.” Enid waved off the protest.

“Well, Kon wants us all to have lunch together today. Maybe in the sunroom with some of your famous salmon stuffed avocados?” I rubbed my hands together. Enid was trained in Mediterranean cooking, and the days I missed living in Europe, she provided the cure to that sickness.

“Miss?” Enid glanced at Aubrielle.

“Yes, that sounds lovely. I have no allergies, if you’re worried. I eat most anything except really hot spicy foods. And please call me Aubrielle. I hope to have Lillianna in here with you sometime and you can teach us both about cooking.”

“Oh, I like you more and more.” Enid bustled into the kitchen to the fridge and peered inside. “We have enough salmon for today. I was thinking a vegetable lasagna for dinner.”

“Perfect!” I clapped my hands and headed to the small staircase at the back of the kitchen. “Aubrielle, these are the only stairs I use. Coming right down in the morning to the kitchen to Enid’s breakfasts is the only way to start the day. Shall I show you your room now?”

Aubrielle nodded and turned to Enid. “Thank you again.”

“Go get settled, dearie. And don’t let Quill sweet talk you into anything.”

I laughed and led the way up the stairs.

There were a half dozen bedrooms at this end of the manor, two of which were Callista’s and Kienna’s old rooms. “Guestrooms, all of these. If you were to continue up to the third floor, you’ll find the gym, game room, and my bedroom.

It’s all new. I converted the unused storage space up there after we moved back last year.

Feel free to go up and use anything anytime. ”

The scent of her perfume made me heady as it grew stronger. All I wanted to do was lure her up the stairs to my room, tie her to the bed, and worship her body.

She had put another foot of space between us. Did she feel the pull too? I was used to having women beg for my attentions, but this, oh, fuck, she was going to test the limits of my control.

We passed the main staircase which led down to the front foyer and entered the east wing. “Kon’s staying in the master suite.” I tapped my fingers on the closed door and motioned across the hall. “Lilli’s room. She’s still sleeping.”

Someone had left a pink flower in the keyhole with a little note attached. Aubrielle’s expression softened as she brushed her fingers over the petals. “A dahlia from Callista’s bouquet.”

“My sister, even going off for her honeymoon, she’s thinking of others.

” It came out just a little more than a whisper.

I’d missed Callista over the years. We’d been close when we were kids, but then I’d been shipped off to Italy and ripped away from my family.

Kon was there, but he’d always been walled off from everyone.

Only Lillianna seemed to be able to slip inside of his emotional barriers.

“She does,” Aubrielle agreed. Her smile was more open, but as she looked at me, a rosy flush crept up her neck and she averted her gaze.

I was reveling in this cat and mouse game. If I was lucky, I’d be licking my lips with her cream someday soon. “Let me show you your suite. You’re just around the corner from Lilli’s room.”

The hall curved around a corner to a deadend.

A potted plant sat at the end of the hall under a stained glass window.

I pushed open the door to the suite. It had been my and my siblings’ nanny suite when we were young, and my father’s and his brother’s before us.

It was tucked away in the east end corner of the manor, and by far, the most cozy suite.

I’d considered taking it as my own room when we first moved back, but needing my own space away from everyone, I took over the third floor and made it my own.

“Here we are.” I swept inside and did a slow turn in the morning sun which streamed between the thick curtains.

There was a small living room area and a tiny kitchenette.

The bedroom housed a queen sized bed, and the bathroom had an old-fashioned clawfoot tub with gold feet.

“What do you think? Anything you want to change, just let me know. I’ll make it happen.

Oh, and there’s a small balcony out through that door there. ”

Aubrielle walked around the suite in slow motion. She ran her fingers over the surfaces and gasped a little when she looked out to the balcony. Her wide-eyed wonder made her even more beautiful. “I don’t need anything else. This is… wow. This is perfect.”

“Well, perfect would be my room, but you can come see that later.” I winked, wanting a giggle and smile, but instead, she looked like she wanted to run. She turned and hid her face behind her hair. I’d never met anyone so deliciously shy, and more so, I never expected it to turn me on so much.

Screw Kon’s rules. I wanted Aubrielle.

“Paula?” A hesitant voice came along with a little knock at the door. Lillianna poked her head into the room and broke out into a smile at seeing me. She stepped in while holding the dahlia in her hand. “Uncle Quill!”

She ran to me and I met her halfway, scooping her up and swinging her around before giving her a giant hug. “Good morning to my favorite niece in the whole world.”

Lillianna giggled and then gave me a stern look. “Uncle Quill, you can’t say that anymore. Isabella would be sad.”

“Ah, yeah, you do have a point. How about my favorite child of my only brother?” I gave her side a tickle.

“I’m the only child of your brother’s.” Lillianna laughed anyway and turned her head to look curiously at Aubrielle. “Hi.”

“Hi, Lillianna. It’s so wonderful to see you again.” Aubrielle approached with a gorgeous smile. “How did you enjoy the wedding yesterday?”

“It was so good! Aunt Callista looked beautiful. Everyone was dressed up and it felt like a fairy tale came to life. I loved it! Kienna even let me taste champagne.” Lillianna enthusiastically rattled on and then crinkled her nose. “It was yucky.”

Aubrielle leaned in as if she was sharing a secret. “I’m not a fan of champagne either. Too bubbly.”

“Guess what, sweetheart?” I jiggled my niece in my arms. “Aubrielle is going to be staying with us as your new nanny. Isn’t that exciting?”

Lillianna gasped and let out a girlish squeal. She wiggled out of my arms, and I set her down. “Really? Yay! It’s going to be so much fun. We can do each other’s hair and makeup and dress up.”

“Yes, that will be fun. I also thought we could play games, go on picnics, and have beach days. There’s so much we can do.” Aubrielle ramped up Lillianna’s excitement even more. Damn, she was hot and so good with kids.

“I’ve never been on a picnic.” Lillianna’s eyes went wide and she bounced on her toes. “And we haven’t been to the beach in so long. Is Aunt Callista and Isabella going to come? Where are they?” She held up the dahlia. “She lost one of her flowers.”

“Calli and her mates are gone on their honeymoon, sweetheart. Remember her talking about going to Hawaii?” Though I wouldn’t consider it much of a honeymoon with a baby along, but no way would I have suggested to any of them to leave their daughter behind or I would have been missing a limb.

The excitement drained from Lillianna’s face and her shoulders drooped. “Oh. I remember.”

Shit. Right. Her abandonment issues. I was such an asshole uncle for forgetting that. As I was about to swoop in with something else to distract her, the Omega beauty beat me to it.

“Don’t worry.” Aubrielle bent down and motioned to the flower still in my niece’s hand. “Callista and Isabella will be back, and we have already talked about getting together every week. She said she was really going to miss you too and left a special flower with a note. Would you like to read it?”

The light came back to Lillianna’s eyes. “Every week?” Her smile grew big again. “Can you read it to me? I know some letters, but I know Italian words better.”

Aubrielle sat on the sofa with my niece and took her time reading the note to her. She got her to recognize some letters and a few words. I’d never seen anyone more suited to being a nanny.

I left the two of them for a moment so I could have a quick shower and get dressed.

Well, it didn’t turn out to be too quick.

Thinking of that blushing Omega living in the same house had me hard as a rock.

I stroked my monster of a hard-on as I imagined sneaking down to her room at night and seeing her soaking in that tub. Her big breasts soapy and wet…

The problem was I could only think about it.

If it was just a matter of breaking Kon’s rules, I wouldn’t give a fuck.

But Aubrielle was here for Lillianna, and I didn’t want to screw that up for my niece.

Lillianna needed a nurturer like her in her life.

She needed her much more than I needed to get laid.

Fuck. I saw a lot of cold showers in my future.
