Three months later…

“Hello, my name is Lillianna Birk.” Lillianna beamed a smile at her new kindergarten teacher. She looked like the perfect little lady in her blue school uniform and her hair done up in a simple braided twist. She held her mermaid backpack in front of her and bounced on her toes.

“It’s wonderful to meet you, Lillianna. I’m Mrs. Hector, and I’m so happy to have you in my class this year.” The teacher bent down to greet her new student. Her hair was graying, but she had a youthful smile.

I was bursting with excitement and sadness.

Lillianna was starting school, which she would be so great at, but I wouldn’t be able to spend all my days with her.

Though I’d be starting up my own classes again, the summer we had together was the best of my life.

Of course, that also had to do with the two Alphas standing beside me.

“Oh! Like Hector's dolphins. I remember that, because they’re the world’s smallest dolphins.” Lillianna lifted her chin, proud to remember that fact.

“What a smart girl. I think you’re really going to love the Oceans unit when we do that next month.

” Mrs. Hector praised and stood to hand Lillianna a name tag.

“If you please write your name on this and wear it for this week, it would help me out. I have a lot of new students’ names to learn.

If you need one of your parents to help write your name, that’s okay. ”

“I can write my own name. My mommy taught me to read and write this summer.” Lillianna turned her smile to me and my heart swelled.

June had been a chaotic month with the kidnapping and leftover legal issues with the Pacettis.

When things settled in July, Konstantin, Quill, and I sat down with Lillianna and told her we loved each other, and that we were a pack.

She wasn’t surprised at all, and said she already knew that.

It was when we told her that we were going to have a small and intimate wedding in October, and we would like her to be our flower girl, that she asked if she could call me Mommy.

I burst into tears. Lillianna wasn’t my blood, but she was the daughter of my heart. Just when I didn’t think I could love her more, my love for her grew even stronger.

“That’s excellent.” Mrs. Hector held out her hand to me. “Your daughter is marvelous, Mrs. Birk.”

While I wasn’t officially Mrs. Birk yet, I didn’t correct her. I shook her hand. “Please call me Aubrielle. It’s so nice to meet you.”

“Mommy’s going to be a teacher just like you.” Lillianna piped up.

“How lovely.” Mrs. Hector gave my hand an extra squeeze.

“I’m Konstantin Birk, Lillianna’s father.” Konstantin shook the teacher’s hand next. Of course he wore a suit to drop off his daughter on her first day of school, but I never complained about it. He looked smoking hot in his tailored suits.

“And I’m Uncle Quill. I couldn’t miss seeing my favorite niece off on her first day of school.” Quill grinned as he shook Mrs. Hector’s hand, already charming her with his drop dead gorgeous smile.

“Uncle Quill, you can’t say that. Remember Isabella!” Lillianna heaved a sigh, and we all had a laugh.

Mrs. Hector moved on to greet her other students and their families. Lillianna put her backpack in her cubbyhole which already had her name on it, and then we all dove in to hug her goodbye.

“I love you, sweetie. Enjoy your first day, and I’ll be here to pick you up this afternoon.” Konstantin kissed her cheeks and stood, chest puffed out like the proudest father on the planet.

Quill picked Lillianna up and gave her a tickling kiss. “Kick some butt, Lilli. We all know one day you’ll rule the world.”

“Quill.” Konstantin grunted and gave him a narrowed eyed look.

Lillianna giggled and gave her uncle a high five before he set her down. We then simultaneously moved to embrace one another. My heart was full to bursting. “Have fun today. You’ll do spectacularly, I know it. I love you so much.”

She squeezed me tightly and then pulled back with her angelic smile. “I love you too, Mommy. And you’ll do spectacully with your school work too. Then you can open up your own mermaid school!”

We giggled together about that and I gave her one more kiss before she skipped off to write her name on her tag. Another girl sat next to her, and Lillianna introduced herself. Then they started a conversation as if they had been friends for years.

I couldn’t believe how difficult it was to walk out of the classroom and leave her there. I started to tear up as we stepped outside. Both Quill and Konstantin wrapped their arms around me as we walked through the busy lot to the car.

“She’s going to be fine.” Konstantin kissed my temple.

“She’ll be queen of the class before the day is out.” Quill chuckled as I leaned my head on his shoulder.

“I know, but knowing how great she’ll do doesn’t make it any easier.” I sighed, dabbing my eyes and trying to be as calm about it as they seemed. “I don’t know how I’ll concentrate on my own school work today thinking about Lillianna.”

My mates exchanged a certain look, and I eyed them suspiciously.

“If that’s the case, then it’s good you won’t be doing any school work today.” Quill smirked and hopped ahead to open the car door for me. He held it for me, bowing like a gentleman but winking at me in a wicked way.

“What do you mean?” I looked to Konstantin as he helped me into the car.

“We have a special celebratory brunch planned and reservations at a spa.” Konstantin went around to the driver’s side.

“We got the whole pack package at the spa. Damn, that sounds weird.” Quill snickered as he closed my door and got into the seat behind me.

I twisted to gape at them both. “But I thought you two had several important meetings today, and I really need to get started on my classes.”

“We lied.” Quill shrugged and then leaned forward to lightly kiss my lips. “Also, you can start your stuff any time you want. Today you’re playing hooky with your pack.”

God, I loved these Alphas. I pretended to be shocked at his suggestion. “Play hooky? But I’m a good girl.”

“Mm, yes, you are.” Konstantin’s smoldering eyes bore into me, and I had to squeeze my thighs together with how easily he made me wet.

“Well, today you’re going to be a naughty girl and let us fuck you senseless before and after our spa visit.

” Quill reached around the seat and groped one of my breasts before his hand slipped down to rest on my belly.

“We need to thoroughly enjoy all the time we have when kids aren’t around since this little one will be stealing all our time next year. ”

I covered his hand with mine. There was no bump yet as I was only a few months pregnant, but it was as if I could already feel our baby inside of my womb. This amazing being who will help us grow our pack even more.

Konstantin put his hand over mine, and I smiled as their love surrounded me. The three of us together were going to be the ultimate parenting team.

“Well, when you put it that way, I suppose I can play hooky just for one day.”

Quill gave me one more kiss and sat back, doing up his seatbelt. He gave a little snorting laugh. “Just one day? Oh no, baby, at least twice a week, and lunch breaks for sexy times.”

I grinned and rolled my eyes as I buckled in. “I do have to take time to focus on school work and not spend all my days having sex.” I looked over at Konstantin. “You’ll help me be studious, right?”

He started the engine and tried to hide the smirk that I could see twitching up his lips. “I’m with Quill on this one. We’re going to have to get all the sexy times in before the baby comes, and even after, we’ll have to get a nanny so we don’t lose any sex slots in our schedules.”

They had me squirming in my seat, and they knew it.

“Incorrigible. Both of you.” And heck, I loved it.

I loved them. “But we’re not getting a nanny.

I already told you that I’m not going to start working fulltime as a teacher until our baby is old enough to be in school themselves.

I don’t want to miss a minute of them growing up. ”

“You’re not just the best mom, but the sexiest mom. Fuck, I’m so hard already. Can we just skip brunch and go right to the fucking?” Quill groaned and sent me into a fit of giggles.

“Aubrielle?” Konstantin looked to me for my decision. I took note that he also had a huge bulge in his pants.

I settled back in my seat, thinking about drawing out their misery, but I couldn’t do it. My appetite was not for food right now either. “Maybe you can drive to a secluded spot in the woods nearby, and we’ll see what Little Red Riding Hood can do with two big, bad wolves.”

“Fuck, yeah!” Quill hooted as Konstantin put the car in gear and practically tore out of the parking lot.

I was once the girl that was left behind when all her friends found their packs. I never thought I’d find my prince, and I certainly didn’t expect to find two. My happily ever after had taken me by surprise and swept me off my feet.

What was more, I realized that it wasn’t an ending, but the beginning of my very own fairy tale.
