“I’m right there,” she muttered, raising her hips. “Finish, Kole.”
I chuckled at her command. “Yes, ma’am.”
Adding a second finger, I upped my pace, feeling her pussy clench around them. I sucked on her clit, flicking my tongue, earning another low moan. Her chest heaved as she drew close to the edge again. I kept the same rhythm, not stopping until her legs tightened around my head, her body freezing for a few moments before a scream tore from her lips.
I didn’t stop, letting her ride out the orgasm as she came around my fingers. I glanced up, witnessing pure pleasure on her face as she soaked up the waves of ecstasy. Once they subsided, she sagged against the counter, blinking her eyes open. I met her stare, letting her decide what came next. Last time, it was obvious that she hadn’t wanted anything else after I ate her out. But this time? Her eyes were still gleaming with lust as she shot me a quick grin.
“Fuck me,” she demanded, between heavy breaths.
“That’s what you want?” I questioned, resisting the urge to look at her scars. There wasn’t any part of me that wanted to push her into something she didn’t want.
“As long as you have a condom. I haven’t been on birth control in years.” She hesitated, biting her bottom lip. “It’s been a while since I’ve had sex.”
“Me too,” I murmured softly, hearing the nerves in her voice.
“Four years,” she stated, her cheeks flushing as I straightened up. “It’s been four years. You’re the first man to even touch me in that long.”
It took some serious self-control to keep the shock to myself. Four years? This woman was beautiful. Smart. Funny. Sassy. No sane man would deny her. My chest tightened. It was her choice. If I had to guess, her past trauma refused to allow her to get close to anyone. It was why she was so distant—why no one got a peek at her true self. If she hadn’t ended up living in my house, I never would have had a chance to get to know her.
When Fiona had told me that Dani had to stay with me, I’d been annoyed. My thoughts had vastly changed since then. I’d have to give Fiona a few free drinks as a silent thank you.
She propped herself up on her elbows. “Am I scaring you away, Kole?”
“If anything, it only makes me want to get you off as many times as humanly possible.” I grinned. “Tell me your favorite position, Dani.”
She giggled, wrapping her arms around my neck. “Me on top.”
“Cowgirl,” I groaned, already imagining her riding me.
“Condom,” she reminded me in a hoarse voice. “Get one.”
I had to think about where I had some because while I hadn’t gone as long as Dani, I hadn’t slept with anyone in a while.
“Stay right there,” I told her, standing up, rushing to the back of the house and into the laundry room where the half bath was.
I crouched down, rummaging through the bottom drawer until I found one. I stepped back into the kitchen, halting in my tracks. I was gone less than a minute, yet the lights were now off, and it was too dark to see anything.
“I’m waiting,” she sang out.
My gaze darted to the living room where her voice came from. My heart raced faster as I stalked toward her. If she went to the couch, I had a feeling she didn’t want to go to either of our bedrooms. Which was fine with me. I paused near the wall, almost turning the lights back on.
“I don’t want them on,” she said tightly as if knowing what I was about to do.
I strode toward the living room, anger flushing through me. I hoped whoever the fuck hurt her was rotting in the ground. Her earlier words about her scars rang in my ear, and I believed she embraced them. Clearly, having them visible still messed with her even if she didn’t want to admit it.
Trailing my fingers on the back of the couch, I tried finding her, but it was pitch black, making it impossible to see an inch in front of me.
“Why me?” I asked as I rounded the couch.
“What?”
I followed her voice. “Four years and you decide to sleep with me. Why?”
Silence fell over the room as I sat down on the cushion, her shoulder brushing mine.
“You need a reason?” she replied.
“If you’re using me as a distraction, that’s fine.” I pulled her onto my lap, and she straddled my thighs, her hands landing on my shoulders. “I think it’s something more. Maybe you actually like me.”
