Page 6 of Killer Honeymoon
Eager to touch Royce in any way, Sawyer stepped behind him and struck the pose Whitney had suggested, but he couldn’t resist dropping a kiss on the back of Royce’s neck. A collective “Aww” came from the crowd as well as a few sniffles.
“Hols, are you the one crying already?” Royce teased.
“Not me,” Holly replied. “It’s the other Locke.”
“It’s my allergies,” Jace quipped, earning a laugh from everyone gathered.
“Ready, guys?” Whitney asked.
“Yes,” everyone replied.
“Here we go. On three,” Whitney said. “One—”
“Wait,” Royce said. “Do I turn on three?”
Whitney giggled. “I’ll count to three, then you turn.”
Royce held up a thumb. “Got it.”
“All right,” Whitney said. “One—”
Royce turned around before she could even think to say two. His beautiful gray eyes filled with tears as he cupped Sawyer’s face and said, “Hi.”
“Hi, yourself,” Sawyer replied as his eyes misted over too.
Royce pressed his forehead to Sawyer’s. “Have you always looked at me like this?”
“Only every second of every day.”
Royce dropped his hands so he could hold Sawyer’s, and both took a step back so they could check out one another’s suits.
“Your lavender tie looks familiar,” Sawyer said as he stroked a finger over the silky fabric. “If I didn’t know better, I’d say you were wearing my lucky tie.”
“Mylucky tie now,” Royce said. He dipped his gaze to the vest Sawyer wore beneath his jacket. “I don’t recall seeing your vest at the tailor’s shop.”
Sawyer smiled. “I specially commissioned this piece.”
Royce’s nostrils flared as he cupped Sawyer’s face once again. “I love you.”
“I love you more.”
“You’re making this too easy,” Whitney said as she moved around them, trying different angles. “It’s an absolute pleasure to capture this day for you.”
“I want to kiss you,” Royce whispered.
The urge to close the short distance and press their mouths together was intense. Sawyer sucked in a sharp breath, then eased back a little. “Not until we’re married.”
Whitney called out a few different poses for them to try until Evangeline announced it was time for everyone but the grooms and best men to take their seats. Royce and Sawyer were besieged with excited hugs from their family and friends.
“Royce goes to the left,” Whitney said. “Sawyer to the right.”
“Meet you at the altar,” Royce said.
“I’ll be there.”
Killian placed his hand on Sawyer’s shoulder, and they veered off from the canopy of trees so they could reemerge near the altar. Sawyer glanced over his shoulder once and caught Royce doing the same. They shared smiles before turning back around. Sawyer didn’t think Killian would purposely walk him into a tree on his wedding day, but he didn’t want to take a chance.
He stood at his designated spot as music played softly and waited for his cue to approach the reverend.
