NORAH
"W here my friend, nigga?"
Norah stormed into the home Dallas shared with Big Boy.
He looked at her suspiciously because for two days Dallas had been missing, and he knew if anyone knew, it was Norah.
He watched her put on a performance, coming into his crib screaming and searching closets.
He didn't say a word because he was no fool.
When she stormed back into the living room, he took a hit from his blunt and looked at her like she had lost her fucking mind.
"You ain't gotta fake for that bitch. A nigga ain't dumb."
"The fuck you talking about? It's been two days. She's not answering her phone or texting me back. We both know even if she mad at yo’ simple ass, she gon’ text me back."
"Well, text the bitch and tell her I said she could come get her shit."
"I swear you one dumb mothafucka. I'll be back by this bitch, and if I find out you did something to my friend, just watch what happens to you."
"I ain't did shit to her yet. But you watch when she come in this mothafucka what I do to her. Both eyes black." Big Boy took his original seat.
He didn't have time for the bullshit they were pulling. He was gonna wait for Dallas patiently, and when she walked through the door, he was gonna put his foot right up her ass.
One thing Boy Boy had never done was hit Dallas.
He had never even disrespected her by calling her out her name, but because he was suspicious, he didn't give a fuck.
It even let Norah know he was upset because she knew Big Boy never disrespected her best friend.
However, she was busy lost in her own assumptions.
These days, niggas killed their women and even offed themselves.
She prayed that wasn't the case, but what the fuck was going on?
Norah didn't bother mentioning the winnings, the casino, or anything in that nature. She remembered Dallas saying she didn't mention anything to Big Boy. Instead, she left and jumped into her ride.
She watched the house momentarily, trying hard to wrap her head around where her friend could be.
The only thing she could think of was going by the Kinglys and asking if they had seen her.
A part of her was horrified because she could hear Mama's voice.
There was something strange about Mama's words, not to mention, the facility when they had visited.
Everyone was just too damn weird—drunk or like zombies. The people in the night club were the ones who seemed a bit normal, but they too were drunk and just enjoying the New Year. The entire aura was just off, which gave Norah this strange feeling.
Norah pulled off from Dallas's home determined to find her friend. After another day, she would go to the police because in her state, you had to wait three days before putting out a missing person report.
