“ A re you sure we have everything we need?”

I slam the trunk of my Charger as Phantom’s arms wrap around my waist, and Demon loads his saddle bags with more ammunition. We have enough firepower to take out a small country. I’m not worried about that. It’s the next part of the plan is going to be tricky.

I just hope Phantom will forgive us.

“I don’t think it’ll be a problem,” I answer, leaning into him.

Phantom spins me around, and Demon steps up behind me.

I’m sandwiched between both of them and can feel the tension swirling around us.

Phantom cups my cheeks, and his mouth descends on mine.

Our tongues tangle together in perfect synchrony.

Before I realize what’s happening, Demon flips me around and administers his own branding to my lips.

I’m lost in the lust zinging through my system, but the moment is ruined when numerous pings go off at the same time. I pull away from Demon and slide my phone out of my back pocket to read the text I knew was coming.

Unknown: Change of plans. We don’t trust you not to bring backup. Meet us at 1278 Hwy 93 S in an hour.

“What the fuck is this?” Phantom asks, disbelief lacing his tone.

“I’ll give the jackoffs this,” Demon says. “They’re not totally fucking stupid.”

Phantom angrily runs his hands through his hair. “We need to rethink this plan.”

I shake my head. “No, we end this shit today.”

“Jez,” Phantom starts. “We don’t have time to pl?—”

I slam my fist down on the top of my car. “We can do this, Phantom. Get the girls on the phone.”

Phantom taps the screen on his cell, and Diabla’s the first to answer, but is quickly followed by Jinx, Loki, and Bela.

“Are you guys almost ready?” Diabla asks.

“Change of plans,” I say harshly. “Tell me where 1278 Hwy 93 S is.”

Everyone goes silent, and all we can hear is the clinking of keyboards.

“Got it!” Jinx shouts over the line. “It looks like an old, abandoned restaurant.”

“What’s going on?” Loki asks.

“Demon, Jez, and I just got a text saying the location has been changed, and we’re to be there in an hour,” Phantom rants.

“This is cutting it pretty close, Jez,” Diabla says.

I pinch the bridge of my nose. “All I need to know is how we can access it.”

“I’m pulling satellite images now,” Bela informs us. “Looks like you can go in directly from the highway. One of you can approach from the west, but that might take a little longer. No more than ten minutes, though, and it’ll be the same for whoever goes in from the east.”

“I’ll go in from the East,” I offer.

Demon’s face is taut. “Fuck it, I’m hitting those fuckers head on.”

“No, you’re not,” Phantom protests. “I’ll go in from the west.” He looks pointedly at Demon. “Your ass is going to hang back until we give you the signal to move forward, and we can all go in together. If we do this right, we can catch them unaware.”

Fuck, it’s hot watching Phantom order Demon around.

“Fine,” Demon concedes. “But your asses better be exactly ten minutes behind me or I’m going in without you.”

I nod. “Alright, Bela, send each of us the GPS instructions for our routes, and we’ll head out. We’re locked and loaded.”

“Stay safe,” Bela calls out.

“Do me a favor, and don’t die,” Diabla snickers.

My mouth curves up in a smile. “Don’t worry, ladies. The only ones who will be hurting today are Stewart and his cronies.”

Phantom disconnects the call and glares at me. “For the record, I don’t like this plan one fucking bit.”

“Noted.” I stand on my toes and place my lips on his. “We need to go. Demon, you head out first, then I will, and Phantom can follow five minutes after me.”

Phantom releases me and tugs Demon into his chest. “Don’t do anything stupid. Wait for us,” he commands and grips the back of Demon’s neck, crushing his mouth to his.

Blinking back tears, my heart tightens in my chest. I take a deep breath and force myself to remember the reason we’re doing this.

Demon and Phantom break apart, panting. Demon pulls me into his arms and kisses me softly before jumping onto his bike. “I’ll see you there.” He fires up the engine and zips down the road.

Phantom watches him until he disappears after turning down another street.

“He’ll be okay,” I assure him.

“You sure about that?” Phantom asks.

“Absolutely,” I say confidently. “If he’s not, then we’ll be there to pick up the pieces and put him back together.”

Phantom’s jaw tightens. “Fucking right we will.”

I pull my keys out of my pocket. “My turn.” I give Phantom a chaste kiss as he opens my car door.

“Stay vigilant,” Phantom orders. “This could still be a trap.”

I cup his face. “I’ll be fine.”

I drop into the driver’s seat and start my car. The Charger purrs as I back up and throw it into drive. I head in the direction of the route Bela sent over. Once I’m out of Phantom’s sight, I turn to head in the opposite direction.

I call the girls and Demon through Bluetooth. “Everyone ready?”

“I can’t believe we’re doing this behind Phantom’s back,” Diabla mumbles.

“These are my demons,” Demon snaps. “Jez is the only person who understands the fucked-up shit that happened in my childhood. Besides, Phantom will be safer this way.”

“We understand that, Demon.” Jinx sighs. “We only agreed to this little stunt you two are pulling because you agreed to wear the ear coms at all times.”

“We will,” I vow. “Mines in place.”

“Mine, too,” Demon adds. “We should be there in forty-five minutes.”

Demon and I decided that we needed to keep Phantom out of this fight.

This is our past that needs to be buried, and we can’t risk Phantom getting hurt over it.

Demon knows what Stewart is capable of, and he filled me in.

We’re ready for every possible scenario.

So, while we’re diving right into the fight, Phantom is headed in the opposite direction per the false information Jinx texted from the unknown number.

Phantom and Soul are going to kick our asses once we get back.

“Your twin and Phantom are going to kick the shit out of you guys when you get back,” Diabla echoes my thoughts. “It’ll be even worse if either of you gets hurt in the process.”

“Oh, ye of little faith,” Demon says. “We’ll be fine. Jez and I know how to protect ourselves.”

“The plan is foolproof. We’ve gone over every possible scenario,” I remind them.

“How’d that work out for you with McCormick?” Diabla fires back.

“Low blow, Diabla,” I growl. “First of all, no one knew what I was doing or where I was going. This time is different. Demon is with me, and you’ll be listening in. If we need help, you know what to do.”

“Yeah, alert the club,” Diabla says sarcastically. “Then we’re the ones getting our asses reamed by the big guy.”

“Look at this way, at least you all live in other states,” Demon jokes.

“Not helping, Demon,” I sass.

Loki chuckles. “He does have a point.”

“ETA is thirty minutes,” I announce.

Time to kill the bastard who tormented my man.
