Brooke swallowed nervously. Shewasscrewed. This whole plan was a terrible idea. It was best to change the subject, both in her mind and with Vivienne, to just keep focused on the task at hand. Brooke had successfully managed to select a tux. She could take it to her tailor first thing in the morning. Tomorrow evening she would see if she could hold a conversation with Anna in person, and if she could, she would purchase their plane tickets and confirm their attendance with Nathaniel. As with everything in her life, when there was a plan in place, Brooke could see it through. It was the unknown that she always struggled with.

Brooke Kent (7:52 pm):

Noted. How’s the rest of

the shopping going?

Vivienne Carlisle (7:53 pm):

It’s going well. If this pans out,

with this wardrobe, next year

you can take her to the Hamptons

for the summer.

Brooke rolled her eyes at Vivienne’s teasing. She was just glad that Anna was finding clothes that would keep her from scrutiny from Sybil Kent. Brooke sighed and decided she should continue with her own shopping.

Anna Fourchette (8:27 pm):

Soooo I did a number on your

bank account this evening.

Brooke Kent (8:28 pm):

I’m not worried about that.

I just want you to fit in.

You know, in the inner circle

of hell that is the Kents.

Anna Fourchette (8:29 pm):

LOL! Surely they can’t be that bad.

I mean… you’re lovely. So are

your friends.

Brooke’s heart skipped a beat. She was glad that she hadn't been hooked up to a heart monitor today. It would have probably indicated a serious condition with as many times her pulse had raced or stopped altogether.

Brooke Kent (8:31 pm):

Hope for the best, prepare

for the worst.

Anna Fourchette (8:32 pm):

You’re cute. How’d your

shopping go?

Brooke’s heart took another tumble. What did she mean by saying“you’re cute?” Brooke was honestly afraid to find out.
